Personal reflection from mid-morning local talkradio show host and friend, Jim Vicevich. A West Point grad, Secretary of State, Chief of White House staff and former President of United Technologies, General Alexander has died at age 85 reportedly from a blood infection but I wanted to make mention of my personal contacts with General Haig when I was a reporter with WFSB-TV. You will get the chance to read his bio in this post below, and here at Steve’s post,

Asking for prayers for my good friend and local mid-morning talkradio show host, Jim Vicevich who is very ill right now because of his autoimmune disorder. Thank-you.

Back be popular demand, Jim Vicevich's famous last 30 minutes RANT. … so here it is. I’m off in a cubical somewhere trying to determine why a Web server won’t behave and my cell phone starts buzzing, and buzzing, and buzzing. I see tons of e-mails with keywords like rant, go Jim, and YES! – Here is the audio … There may also have been something about a thrown water bottle, but I have no idea what was going on during that last 30 minutes… Mr. Joyce captured the audio, so here it is …

This is swell. Abdel Basset al-Megrahi was handed over to a Scottish court seated in the Netherlands in 1999 after he was indited in the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988 which killed all 259 passengers and another 11 on the ground. He was convicted, got cancer and released this week back to Libya. Libya’s dictator through him a party.

This is just a despicable statement on the part of a politically expedient Congressional relic. If only the Republicans had spent more money on research, Jack Kemp would be alive. Set aside the fact that he offers absolutely no evidence more government money would have led to a cure of Jack Kemp’s cancer, what he seems to be suggesting is that had Congress listened to “Ole Arlen” and if he remains in office … there will be a cure for all cancer. To even suggest this 24 hours after Mr Kemp’s death is despicable. Very reminiscent of John Edwards “elect...

You’ve probably seen this quote, incorrectly attributed to someone named Alexander Tyler, floating around the Internet mail queues. Even snoops has a page dedicated to the e-mail that goes around comparing statistics between the Clinton and Bush years and more recently Bush versus Obama. I’m not interested in rehashing those numbers - not noted here - but would like to put out the part of the e-mail concerning the historical cycle of a democracy. We’re technically a democratic republic, but what say you about this… _________________________ A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist...

When the Senate Health Committee on Wednesday passed its version of Obamacare, the President, with Sen. Dodd (D. Ct.) standing at his side, applauded the committee’s effort. Our President explained that the committee had “engaged” in 50 hours of debate before passing the bill. All in attendance at this press conference were beaming with joy, and, of course, applauding. This “photo op” reminded me of the folks who stand on the dais at the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange every day. Even when the market is down over 400 points, when the closing bell sounds, they all...

Michelle Malkin will be joining Jim during Sound Off Connecticut this morning (Wednesday). Her new book is number 1 in books on Amazon.com. Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies is an up-to-date review of the nepotism, ethics deficiencies and hypocrisy apparent in the current administration.

I could give you a bit of the interview Cavuto did … but why bother? Neil’s commentary at the end of the show is far more entertaining and far more revealing about Barney Frank … rude and disrespectful to his constituents. Come to think of it … it’s really become the Democrat mantra hasn’t it? And why not? In the Bay State he has set up the strangest geographical district ever created to assure a safe seat. (From Opencongress.org) ~ Says Cavuto, “I thought I stunk …. as it turns out, everyone stinks.” Enjoy!

Uh oh, Jim is talking about God again. Oh well. This week the young President turned to religious leaders to help push his health care plan (whichever one that is) to their respective flocks. Once again, we the critics are the sinners, and he, judge and jury. Let’s set aside his stance on abortion and partial birth abortion (and his denial that his plan won’t fund abortions). He chose to invoke not just religion in his push for a political plan but then chose to invoke the 9th Commandment, admonishing his critics as “Bearing false witness.” For a Christian, this...
