I was about to ask someone on another thread which translation she uses and I thought maybe it might be better as an individual thread. I don't think this will become contentious, but who knows? So, the question: Which translation do you use for your personal Bible? If the answer is different: Which do you prefer? Why not use it as your personal Bible?

The intel-reform bill may not make us safer, but Congress averted a disaster. The sky isn't falling after all. Congressional leaders have reached a deal on reforming the intelligence community. Sen. Susan Collins has come around to Rep. Duncan Hunter's position on protecting the military chain of command. This deal not only props up the sky but also protects Congress from feeling it'll have blood on its hands should al Qaeda pull off another deadly attack inside the United States. I am looking for some statistical information on the popularity of various bible translations. My company will be introducing a product in a few months that features a customizable scripture imprint. It would be extremely beneficial at this point if we could simply produce the original autographs for examination. This would greatly simplify the operation of establishing correctly the New Testament Text. But this simply cannot happen. It has long been acknowledged by scholars that we no longer have the "originals." They have long since passed from the scene.
