Two years ago, I wrote a column denouncing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of a counter-terrorism law to shut down the Freedom Convoy trucker protests as an authoritarian attack on free speech. Now, a Canadian court has agreed and ruled that the use of the Emergencies Act was unlawful and “unreasonable.” Despite Trudeau’s attacks on civil liberties, he remains a favorite of the media as an iconic figure on the left. Various civil liberties groups have opposed the iron-handed measures of Trudeau, including The Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the Canadian Constitution Foundation. The characterization of political critics as...

United Airlines is the “Bud Light” of the airline world. They’ve shifted gears, moving away from their core customer base, which prioritizes safety and security. Now, it’s all about drag queens and flamboyant celebrations. But is this the direction most air travelers want? Hardly. Flyers don’t want in-flight gay entertainment featuring CEOs in ladies’ pantyhose or a strong push on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). When passengers board a plane, their primary concern is a competent, professional pilot, not one who’s more interested in theatrics and show tunes. This trend in air travel is starting to mirror our “woke” military,...

Three San Diego Community College District employees were let go from their positions on Jan. 19 after refusing to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Each of the individuals had an accepted religious exemption. Reportedly, between 35 and 40 individual employees remain unvaccinated and several are under consideration for termination. A few weeks later, and SDCCD plans to fire three more unvaccinated staff members, even though the COVID-19 vaccine does not stop infection or transmission. Amy Reichert, from ReOpen San Diego, is sticking up for the staff members in question, telling KUSI News that SDCCD’s decision is “immoral, anti-American, and anti-science.” Reichert...

An acute nursing shortage is clogging or even closing hospital emergency rooms across Canada, pushing an already stressed national health system to the brink with potentially severe consequences for patient care. Burnout from the Covid-19 pandemic, abuse from patients and salary discontent have seen nursing staff quitting their jobs in droves, and experts say the situation is only likely to worsen. The impact on emergency care is such that Ottawa police recently had to take a shooting victim to hospital in their squad car, rather than wait for an ambulance, and an elderly woman who fell and broke her hip...

Troy, New York — Hudson Valley Community College(HVCC) in Troy is opting out and not following the official SUNY system-wide policy requiring all students who attend classes in person, to show proof of COVD-19 vaccination. The College claims that is is unfair to require COVID-19 vaccinations for students but not to faculty and staff. ... The Faculty Association disagrees and has offered to the College to negotiate COVID-19 vaccination requirements for faculty members through established collective bargaining procedures.

Airline executives, under a barrage of criticism from the public, lawmakers and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, have sought to shift blame for flight troubles this summer onto the nation’s air traffic control system. But federal data shows that airlines themselves are the biggest reason for delays in recent months and bear responsibility for an unusually high share of cancellations. The numbers, reported by airlines and released this past week by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, also confirm the experiences of many passengers: 2022 has been a rough year for air travel. Federal transportation officials say 88,161 flights were canceled through...

As the pilot shortage continues to rock the airline industry, carriers are struggling to fulfill their flight schedules, and some are even trying to reduce required training hours to get more pilots in the air. On May 13, Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci apologized in a YouTube video for continued flight cancellations that have been plaguing the carrier. Minicucci blamed the pilot shortage, saying "we had 63 fewer pilots than what we planned for when we built our scheduled," which caused a "ripple effect." "By the time we caught this error, April and May schedules were bid on by our...

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) railed against him chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci for warning about a return of restrictions due to a new strain of COVID-19. Paul said Fauci was “flat-out wrong” to push for more restrictions. He called Fauci a “menace” who “hasn’t been right really about anything since the start” of the coronavirus pandemic. “[I]f you believe in Dr. Fauci, what you should do immediately is go get stickers and make sure they are on the floor, everywhere you go, and a yardstick so you know you are...
