Harris and Walz exploit a tragedy to further a political narrative about ‘Trump abortion bans.’ Gov. Tim Walz dodged a question about Minnesota’s permissive abortion statute at last week’s debate by repeating a story about Georgia’s restrictive one. He brought up the case of Amber Thurman, 28, of Atlanta, who “had to travel a long distance to North Carolina to try and get her care” because Georgia prohibits abortion after six weeks. “Amber Thurman died in that journey back and forth,” Mr. Walz said. His source was an article by Kavitha Surana of ProPublica. Ms. Surana reports that in August...

Much has already been written about Tuesday night’s debate between the two Vice Presidential hopefuls. Tim Walz has had a long love affair with China. Below I will address his attempt to excuse his lie during the debate about being in China during the Tiananmen Square “protests.” Not only did he try to minimize the lie, but he attempted to pass off the murder of innocents as “democracy protests,” without mentioning that his Chinese friends used tanks to massacre innocent, non-violent protesters so that others would get the message.

Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) received stellar reviews for his debate performance on Tuesday night against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), with pundits describing him as “sharp” and offering a “commanding performance.” “For Vance, it was a commanding performance. For Walz, it was a nervous ramble. For the audience, it was the most civil and substantive debate of the Trump era,” wrote Ross Douthat, a columnist for The New York Times. “I was struck by the fact that JD Vance is a significantly more eloquent Donald Trump,” said Alyssa Farah Griffin, “The View” co-host and a CNN commentator during a panel....

Gov. Tim Walz told lies on wide-ranging topics while debating Sen. J.D. Vance.Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., lied repeatedly during the vice presidential debate against Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, on everything from Iran to the border. Here are some of his most notable lies from the night.1. Harris Stands Strong Against IranIran launched a barrage of missile attacks against Israel Oct. 1, the same day as the debate. • Tim Walz is rocked by cool JD Vance, admits ‘I’m a knucklehead’ during genial VP debate

Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stunned watchers of Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate as he nervously fidgeted, frowned and even called himself a “knucklehead” — while his Republican counterpart, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, gave a steady and lawyerly presentation and was widely seen as the victor. *** Walz still seemed nervous an hour later, declaring “I’ve become friends with school shooters” — when he seemed to mean victims — *** *** The Democrat stumbled again, in what will be the most replayed moment of the debate, when he was asked about fresh reporting that he lied about having been...

There are bad debates. Then there are massacres. Then there's what happened to Tim Walz as he imploded all over the stage during his debate with JD Vance. We've written about the problems Kamala Harris has had with speaking, but Walz was just an utter mess. As I write this, the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is living up to the hype as Vance is wiping the floor with Walz, leaving him stammering and staring as though he can't remember anything from his script except "But Trump!"AdvertisementWalz at the VP debate: pic.twitter.com/0a2J79LmDS— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) October 2, 2024I think Walz is going to vote for Vance. 😂 #VPDebate2024 pic.twitter.com/3EfxGxBDKt— under construction! On Tuesday night, CBS News will host the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) five weeks before the election. There's been plenty of chatter about whether Vice President Kamala Harris regrets not picking Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) instead, especially with how close Pennsylvania looks to be. Sure enough, Walz might not be feeling too ready. "Heading into the vice presidential debate, Tim Walz is fighting nerves" read a CNN headline this weekend. The idea of a nervous Walz was came up during a panel on the network. In addition to emphasizing how "nervous"...

Before he was known to the nation as an affable Midwestern dad and a vice-presidential nominee, Tim Walz was a fast-talking political long shot in an ill-fitting suit, spoiling, in his Minnesotan way, for a debate-stage fight. As he stood next to his opponent — a crisply dressed six-term Republican congressman — Mr. Walz, a teacher by training, offered viewers a stark contrast at that 2006 debate, hosted by KSMQ-TV. Mr. Walz cast their choice as one between a political insider focused on “moving up in elected office” and the alternative he said he represented: “I live in the world...
