The Ursulines of New Orleans and Galveston once had a traditional version of the Angelus containing the following prayers to Our Lady of Prompt Succor. A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former Ursuline Academy teacher who was fired after expressing support for abortion rights. Michele Curay-Cramer's name was among 600 in a pro-choice newspaper ad in January of 2003. Ursuline officials say they asked Curay-Cramer to make a retraction, but she refused; so they let her go based on the fact that her views are in violation of Catholic teaching.
