Vice-President Joe Biden assailed what he says is an unfair "double standard" when it comes to judging Hillary Clinton's "authenticity and trustworthiness." "Look, when her husband was running for president voters overlooked the Whitewater scam and all the women he molested and let him be president," Biden remembered. "They lowered the bar for him. In a just world they'd give a similar pass to Hillary. But no, every little misstep is being held against her by a biased media aided and abetted by a rogue FBI." "They say she lies," Biden added. "What politician doesn't lie? Bill lied about Monica....

Ya don't say... If you’d spent the last year listening to only left-wing journalists, you’d have a pretty rosy picture of Hillary Clinton. Sure, there’s some concern about her status as a throwback candidate, and there’s an occasional acknowledgment of her scandals, but the criticism is fleeting. She is the rightful heir to the presidency, and any concerns are trivialities - most of them are cooked up by Republicans, and they’re easily addressed. Under the surface, however, lurked Hillary’s “trust” numbers. Depending on which sycophant was talking, the idea that Hillary was untrustworthy was either A: Nonexistent, B: Overblown, or...

Does Hillary Clinton have a trustworthiness problem? We ask the question in that manner because we’re talking here about voter perception of Mrs. Clinton more than our judgment of her character per se. Reports of the appearance of conflicts of interest between her role as secretary of State and foreign donations to her family foundation have generated lots of headlines in recent days. It’s possible that those reports are already taking a toll on her image. Clintonworld is surely worried that might happen. On Sunday, the Clinton Foundation hit back with a lengthy rebuttal of some of the allegations of...

The belief among the American people that President Barack Obama is “honest and trustworthy” has hit an all-time low, according to a Gallup poll released today. Nonetheless, 50 percent of those surveyed by Gallup do believe the president of the United States is an honest and trustworthy man. Forty-seven percent do not. Also hitting or matching all-time lows, according to Gallup, are the beliefs that Obama has a clear plan for solving the countries problems, that he can manage the government effectively, that he understands the problems Americans face in their daily lives, and that he is a strong and...

As you folks know, I have spent the last two years researching the life and times of the ObamaMessiah, and today I just learned something new. Barack Obama's birth certificate was destroyed in a fire. In an article, entitled, "Obama 'Birther' Row Rears Its Head Again," Greg Milam, identified as a "U. S correspondent" for Sky News, the British version of Fox News, has just introduced a whole new reason for Obama not presenting his birth certificate to confirm his eligibility -- it was burned in a fire! -- poor Barack -- everything seems to happen to him. Milam correctly...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has relished the role of the fearless "Terminator" armed for battle against an army of special interests, is suddenly looking more like Gulliver -- besieged, tied down, and overrun by his opponents. And no wonder: After months of campaigning, fund raising and warning of a Nov. 8 special election he insisted was "guaranteed,'' the governor's team blinked this week. Campaign adviser Mike Murphy floated a trial balloon -- most likely to gauge Democratic Party as much as voter reaction -- with Friday's public acknowledgement that Team Schwarzenegger has discussed the impossible: dumping the much-heralded special ballot...

Most American conservatives, as well as most freepers (myself included) do not regard themselves as belonging to either the neo-con or paleo-con camp. They agree with neos on some issues, and with paleos on other issues. When I was a young conservative in the 1960s, terms like neo-con or paleo-con did not exist. There were simply two opposing ideological camps - liberals and conservatives, period. There were two groups of liberals - those libs in the Democratic Party who supported LBJ & RFK, and the other group of liberals in the Republican Party who supported New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller...
