Looking for some helpful hints and discussion on Windows 10 update. I have a G751 Asus ROG computer, which is pretty capable and modern (Intel quad core 4710HQ, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA 970 GTX), only a couple of years old. I have been reading Donald Trump's twitter without problems until a couple of days ago. Now, I cannot view it anymore as I am asked by Twitter to submit a phone number to pair with my account. Well, I don't have a Twitter account nor do I want one because I don't intend to tweet. I guess that makes me a lurker. I am posting this in general/chat. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I am running Windows XP on my desktop, all service packs okay. My icons and taskbar will disappear/reappear...usually I can get them back by opening task manager and "bringing to front" a program. The thing is running notoriously slow. My McAfee is finding some viruses and quarantining them, but it is driving me CRAZY. Also, for no reason, my web browsers (explorer AND Firefox) will suddenly open these "web sites" for "work at home" opportunities...I've never asked for these sites to open, they just do it on...

I need some Freep help. I was at my FRiend's house last night and browsing Free Republic while logged in on his account, and I noticed a lot of articles appearing that I have never seen before. I logged in and checked all my account and message block display settings and noticed I do not have the option for "Humor" in my message block settings and I have been able to see any humor messages before. The only way I can see them is if I know the thread name and search for a keyword in the title, ie: "Silliness"....

When I left for work this afternoon, the desktop on my Dell computer, running Windows XP Media Center, everything updated as far as security stuff from Microsoft, was as it usually is, with all the icons for my various programs showing little art elements representing said programs. When I got in from work tonight, the icons are still there and they still work, but all of the little art elements are gone. I click on "My Comments," and the thread titles show up, but the contents of my posts don't. Anyone else have this problem?
