Amid escalating legislative attacks on transgender people across the U.S., and coinciding with Trans Day of Visibility, Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington and Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts reintroduced the Transgender Bill of Rights with resolutions in both the House and Senate. The resolutions, if passed, would not directly grant rights or protections to trans citizens, but affirm “that it is the duty of the Federal Government to develop and implement” a wide range of pro-trans legislation.
