Local activist Sir Maejor Page, also known as Tyree Conyers-Page, was sentenced to prison time after creating a fake non-profit organization associated with the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement to defraud donors and supporters of the cause to fund his shopping sprees. Page was given 42 months of prison time for his crimes after being found guilty in April. He was charged with with one count of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering, according to WTOL.

Splash Universe, a waterpark hotel in Dundee, Michigan, is at the center of a human trafficking investigation. That’s according to federal agents with Homeland Security. The investigation stems from an alleged argument that turned physical between hotel staff and the manager. According to Lucas County Regional Dispatch, crews responded to the refinery in the 4100 block of Cedar Point Road in Oregon around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening for reports of injuries. Lateisha Fonseca, 37, is facing charges including felonious assault victim seriously harmed and aggravated robbery with an attempt to inflict serious physical harm. According to court documents, Fonseca attacked a woman by breaking the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and striking the victim with a sharpened object in the face on June 7. A George Floyd mural in Toledo, Ohio was destroyed by a lightning strike Tuesday afternoon, according to witnesses. WTVG reported their Doppler Radar did show a lightning strike on the same block as the George Floyd mural at 4:30 this afternoon. The lightning strike, which hit directly on George Floyd’s face, reduced the mural to a pile of bricks.

Of late there have been a number of shooting deaths all of which are tragic but the ones that could easily have been prevented are particularly sad.
