Authenticity is quite marketable now, and for white pop stars that means shifting away from the hip-hop and R&B-influenced sounds that made them famous, and toward the sounds of Southern and country rock. For Timberlake, the pivot should be sonically natural: Originally hailing from Tennessee, Timberlake has never been shy about celebrating his Southern origins.

Justin Timberlake’s opening skit on ‘Saturday Night Live’ featured the singer and actor doing a “tribute” of Venezuelan authoritarian Hugo Chavez, who died Tuesday (March 5), dressed as Elton John, mimicking Elton’s ‘Candle in the Wind’ tribute of Princess Diana. Timberlake’s take would likely be considered softball by the standards of American conservatives or moderates, but to many in Venezuela, they turned to Twitter to blast the artist for disrespecting their fallen leader and the country’s flag, seen in the background of the skit. The angry messages sent via Twitter (@jtimberlake) include: @luisragarcia: Be a men @jtimberlake, no time for...

The rumor, which appeared to be based on a look at Kunis' production obligations, was sketchy but got a lot of play. "I accepted an invitation and I'm staying true to my word," the actress said at a...

Mila Kunis has reportedly broken her word -- and, along with it, one lonely Marine's heart. Contrary to reports earlier this week, it appears that the "Black Swan" actress won't be attending the Marine Corps Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore in North Carolina this November -- because she has filming commitments that will keep her too busy for traveling. Kunis accepted Moore's invitation to the ball after some prodding from her "Friends With Benefits" co-star, Justin Timberlake, on Monday. After Timberlake alerted Kunis to Moore's come-on, which he posted on YouTube, he urged, "You need to do it for your...

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Terri Carlin wants to make Janet Jackson's bare breast into a federal case. Carlin filed a proposed class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court this week against Jackson, singer Justin Timberlake, broadcasters MTV and CBS and their parent company, Viacom.
