Justin Timberlake Accepts Marine's Invite to Ball
Justin Timberlake Sounds like a pair of Marines have quite a story to tell.
Justin Timberlake, after encouraging his "Friends With Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis to accept an admiring Marine's video invite to the upcoming Marine Corps Ball, has accepted a video invitation to another ball from his own admirer in the Corps.
"I don't feel backed into a corner at all," Timberlake joked when asked by a reporter whether he would go. "I'll tell you what, I accept. But not because she shouted out one of my songs, which I do love ... and not because she had all those beefcake military guys behind her to try to intimidate me, although that probably would have worked by itself.
"I don't get asked out, ever, so I was very flattered by that," he said, calling it an "honor."
Timberlake had played a pivotal role in convincing Kunis to accept Sgt. Scott Moore's YouTube invitation to the Marine Corps Ball. Then enter Cpl. Kelsey De Santis.

Cute. I barely know (or care) who Justin Timberlake is but his acceptance of the female Marines invitation was witty and gracious. Nice, positive publicity for the military. Seeing show business types play along instead of issuing some lame anti-war diatribe is refreshing.

What is this with these “celebrities” all of a sudden being demanded to attend some even by some Marine? Now even Justine Timberlake is part of the process.
Timberlake, whoever he is, should be honored.
It’s all just for fun. The same thing used to happen during WWII. I like the idea. It gives the military people a chance to have a nice time and the celebrities a chance to see the world does not revolve around their egos.

I simply recognized that this Timberlake guy made a nice gesture to the woman Marine who asked him for a date. I never stated that I believed he was a conservative or even pro-military. I thought that he was relatively gracious in how he handled the Marines invitation. He could have snubbed her - but he didn't. I always assume that if a person is termed a 'celebrity' and/or is in show business they are a knee-jerk liberal. I didn't alter that assumption with Justin Timberlake - and I was correct. I just acknowledged his genial approach to the woman's invitation. Considering that he was an Obama supporter (what a shock) that makes his response a bit more surprising but still appreciated. Maybe he's not a jerk. Maybe the woman Marine will help him see the value to a strong military. Well, probably not. It's just a date, not a marriage.
