The Jerusalem District Court sentenced an Israeli border police officer to 14 months in jail Thursday for abusing a Palestinian man together with four of his comrades just outside the city four months ago. The border police officer, Nir Levy, 24, detained the Palestinian on suspicion of working in Israel without a permit on September 11, and then, together with his four partners, took him to an abandoned building in the West Bank village of Abu Dis, where they beat him, burnt cigarette stubs on his hands, made him jump out of a second floor window and drink their urine....
