Al Sharpton, on the sidelines of a meeting with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, said Thursday that “Empire” star Jussie Smollett should face "accountability to the maximum" if the actor indeed staged an attack last month initially described as a hate crime. “Whoever is wrong should pay the maximum. If Smollett is wrong, he ought to face accountability to the maximum,” the cable news host and activist told a throng of reporters on Thursday, after lunching with Sen. Harris at Sylvia’s, a landmark restaurant in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood.

The dog that drove Frasier crazy has died. Eddie was played on the TV series by a Jack Russell terrier named Moose. His trainer tells People magazine that Moose was 16 1/2 years old when he died at her home in Los Angeles. He’d been retired for Moose also starred in the movie “My Dog Skip” as the older Skip.

President Bush is squeezing in some campaigning before the political spotlight turns to next week's Democratic National Convention in Boston. Bush's twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, were to accompany him Tuesday. It's the first time they have made joint appearances with their dad on the campaign trail, although they each have traveled separately with him on other outings.
