The law finally got tough with gunmen when a Birmingham criminal was sent down for seven years. If an individual imports a firearm and/or ammunition after becoming a resident of the UK, he will need to apply for a firearms or shotgun certificate. Application must be made to the Chief Officer of the Police for the area in which he is resident.
