Thirty-two passengers were rescued Saturday evening after a multimillion-dollar luxury yacht started sinking off the coast of Miami Beach. The yacht — a 63-foot Tecnomar for Lamborghini that costs an eye-watering $4 million — was taking on water near Flagler Monument Island, a popular man-made island in Miami's Biscayne Bay. Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to the scene to help the stranded passengers. The boat was carrying twice its capacity when it started sinking. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini can hold a maximum of 16 people on board, as noted on the Lamborghini Miami website. The limited-edition Tecnomar...

A social media video depicting people “adopting” bears and raising them as pets is terrible idea, experts told Cowboy State Daily. They are just setting themselves up to be mauled, they said. A popular social media video that opens with a bear showing up at a family’s front door, set to a sappy love song with cute emojis littered throughout is put out there as a heartwarming tale of nature communing with humans. What the video really shows is a level of ignorance and interaction with one of the planet’s apex predators that’s really just incredibly stupid, wildlife experts told...

Charles Fruit thinks Nikki Haley would make a good president. He thinks she did a good job as governor in South Carolina, and he was impressed with her work as United Nations ambassador during the Trump administration. “She was just tough, and I like that,” the Mesquite, Nev., resident said. “She was common sense. She was well-spoken. She was respectable.” That’s why Fruit was upset to learn that he couldn’t really help her become the Republican nominee. Haley — the second most popular Republican candidate next to former President Donald Trump — is not participating in the Feb. 8 Nevada...

Yes, it is better that Liz Cheney stands up for the truth about Trump and the election than to oppose it, which puts her at odds with a political party in which truth is the enemy. But her present position does not expunge her past positions. The sword she's falling on is one she has spent her political career brandishing. If Cheney is punished by her own party, I will not applaud, but I also will not sob. I sit silently in acknowledgment, as one does, when karma swings low and performs its function.

Many who opposed President Trump or claims of massive, widespread voter fraud are laughing today. Many Trump supporters are feeling betrayed. These strong feelings stem from a statement in a motion filed by Sidney Powell’s attorneys asking the case made against her by Dominion Voting Systems be dropped. Yet in the same sentence, the true intent of the statement is clear. Nobody should be laughing and nobody should feel betrayed. The statement that’s getting latched onto by people on social media states, “reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact,” referencing Powell’s claims that Dominion Voting Systems was being run...

They took off in a hurry — but these New Yorkers are on the express line back to the city. [cut] Turns out, not all New Yorkers are cut out for country living. “I was definitely not in farm-shape when I got there,” said Thacher, who briefly volunteered at a friend’s organic homestead. [cut] And so after testing out life in Massachusetts, Vermont and Beacon in upstate New York, Thacher settled on, well, Brooklyn. “It’s just so easy to walk places without having to plan things out. You can stumble upon bars or restaurants and not be on a script...

When it comes to sexual misconduct, he is not even Matt Lauer, let alone Charlie Rose. Matthews, of MSNBC’s “Hardball” fame, only had to pay out $40,000 to settle a sexual misconduct complaint from an assistant producer, and not the millions dished out by Fox News’ O’Reilly to make similar complaints go away. And who knows how much it will cost these boneheaded, mulitmillionaire television personalities (or former television personalities) Lauer and Rose as more women come forward to accuse them of immoral behavior in the work place? These are frightening times we live in. Which has led to my...
