Thirty-two passengers were rescued Saturday evening after a multimillion-dollar luxury yacht started sinking off the coast of Miami Beach.
The yacht โ a 63-foot Tecnomar for Lamborghini that costs an eye-watering $4 million โ was taking on water near Flagler Monument Island, a popular man-made island in Miami's Biscayne Bay.
Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to the scene to help the stranded passengers.
The boat was carrying twice its capacity when it started sinking. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini can hold a maximum of 16 people on board, as noted on the Lamborghini Miami website.
The limited-edition Tecnomar for Lamborghini โ created by Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group โ weighs in at 24 tons and can reach a speed of 63 knots, or around 72 miles per hour. The high-end yacht was inspired by Lamborghini's super sports cars, according to the Tecnomar Yachts website.

Rules and guidelines don’t apply to some people. As far as ‘eye watering’ $4 million? In that area the lambo might be a skiff to some.

I wonder if insurance can refuse to pay put.
To: V_TWIN
Looks like it sunk only a couple hundred yards from shore.

Saw a brand new speed boat sink at anchor in the Santa Rosa Sound during our Pirate Festival a few years back.
Overloaded with people and it just went in like a second. PLOP!....
Sea Tow had to pull it out of the water with a power winch that snatched it up in a few seconds.................

Captain must be an idiot, overloads the boat and probably forgot to put in the bilge plug.

Would overloaded be justification for insurance to refuse a claim?
