Authorities in Illinois have charged former Rock Island County Court Services administrative assistant Leisa Streeter with theft, theft of government property, forgery, money laundering, and three counts of official misconduct. After she retired in June 2024, the county's Probation and Treasurer's Departments noticed financial irregularities in her department. Authorities claim she opened a fraudulent bank account in 2003 under "Rock Island County VIP" to siphon funds, which she spent on food, entertainment, travel, and loan payments, averaging about $43,000 annually. She reportedly stole about $900,000 over 21 years.

A man who set fire to an occupied police precinct in Portland, Oregon, during the nationwide riots has been sentenced to five years in prison in a plea deal that will see him avoid a harsher sentence. Gavaughn Streeter-Hillerich pleaded guilty to first-degree arson before being sentenced. The father of a Phoenix man shot in the back by officers this month tells ABC15 there's "no justification" for the shooting. Phoenix police officers Austin Martin and Ryan O'Hayer reported they saw Brian Streeter, 35, fighting in the street with his girlfriend on November 13. The Philadelphia 76ers pulled an R&B singer from her scheduled national anthem performance before their game Wednesday night because of a message she had written across her shirt, and the players are reportedly not happy about it. Sevyn Streeter says the 76ers told her two minutes before she was about to walk onto the floor that she had to change her shirt, which said “We Matter” across the front.
