Authorities in Illinois have charged former Rock Island County Court Services administrative assistant Leisa Streeter with theft, theft of government property, forgery, money laundering, and three counts of official misconduct. After she retired in June 2024, the county's Probation and Treasurer's Departments noticed financial irregularities in her department. Authorities claim she opened a fraudulent bank account in 2003 under "Rock Island County VIP" to siphon funds, which she spent on food, entertainment, travel, and loan payments, averaging about $43,000 annually. She reportedly stole about $900,000 over 21 years.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I find it amazing this is surfacing after 21 years of getting away with it.
She stopped wining and dining her political contacts.
A mere piker - go big!
Were there audits done while she was working there? Did auditors not dig too deeply? Was it discovered after her departure, because the transactions she used to steal money were no longer happening, and that prompted someone to look into it?

She is a petty thief compared to former Dixon IL city comptroller Rita Crundwell, who skimmed over 53 mil during about 28 years, iirc.
Mrs Streeter is a Dem (otherwise she couldn’t work in the Rock Island county offices). She’s a rabid anti-Trumper. I heard she was posting her hate for him on fakebook, but also posting Bible verses.
Sad for the Streeter name; was big in Mercer county generations back (borders Rock Island county). Farmed and ranched bigger than most in eastern Mercer. Big promoters of the New Windsor Rodeo.
I lived in that county for 62 years.
Amateur!

She has a jail cell waiting for her, right next to all the former governors.
