The father of a Phoenix man shot in the back by officers this month tells ABC15 there's "no justification" for the shooting.
Phoenix police officers Austin Martin and Ryan O'Hayer reported they saw Brian Streeter, 35, fighting in the street with his girlfriend on November 13. When officers approached the couple at the corner of 19th Avenue and Indian School Road, Streeter turned and ran.
Phoenix police released officer body-worn camera video of the shooting Wednesday. On the video, one officer yelled out that Streeter has a gun. Streeter pointed the gun at his own head as O'Hayer and Martin pursued on foot.
The chase goes around a row of businesses and down an alley before returning near the main intersection.
"Bro, if you don't stop right now, we are going to shoot you," one of the officers said. Both officers are white men. Streeter is black.
Streeter, still with his gun to his head and his back to the officers, yelled out his girlfriend's name just before police opened fire.
"It’s hard to swallow, Brian Streeter, Sr. told ABC15. "I could see if he was going to hurt somebody, but there’s no justification for shooting him like that."
Three gunshots are heard on the video. Streeter falls after the first shot. He suffered bullet wounds to the back and the leg.
"You shoot him two more times after he’s down; people need to know that," Brian Streeter, Sr. said.

If they weren’t rioting over this, they’d be rioting over Pres. Trump’s upcoming victory.
Any excuse for a riot. This time, though, the rioters may get a very rude awakening.

It’s relevant that the man was shot in the back (even though it might be justified). But it’s also relevant that the man was armed.
So hey abc15 Arizona, how’s this for a better title:

I doubt that there will be riots on the scale we’ve seen. Maybe a smaller unrest, but not burning the city down. They’re sure Trump is gone, so they see no need to riot.
Sadly, I don’t share your optimism of a Trump victory.

The man had a gun. The police told him to drop it. If you have a gun visible and you don’t obey police instruction you are going to be shot. It’s really that simple.
An armed perp running away is still a threat.
He might just be looking for a better tactical position to fight from, or he might be a threat to innocents. The cops can’t chase him down because he might turn and shoot.
So the cops were in the right on this. An unarmed perp probably would have to chased (I have seen this happen - it was amazing!).
Any rioters should be treated harshly.

That man needs to shut up. He sucked as a father. His son is a thug. The world would be better without such clowns.
If he’s got a gun like that in traffic (public), he’s a threat to a lot of innocent people.
Why do so many blacks have such behavior problems? It really is unreal.
That section of Indian School Road is a major intersection, and bystanders may have been endangered.

And the POS newcaster considers the perp, I guess, a nobody? I’m sure the officers could just as easily shot the gun out of his hand. Right joe?
If Streeter had shot his girlfriend, or some other person, while they were chasing him, the police would be in trouble for that as well.
The amount of melanin is irrelevant in this story. I condemn the news media for focussing on it. The guy was shot to stop him from shooting himself. Get it? Logical, eh?
