It’s relevant that the man was shot in the back (even though it might be justified). But it’s also relevant that the man was armed.
So hey abc15 Arizona, how’s this for a better title:
‘Phoenix releases video of officers shooting armed man in the back’
An armed perp running away is still a threat.
He might just be looking for a better tactical position to fight from, or he might be a threat to innocents. The cops can’t chase him down because he might turn and shoot.
So the cops were in the right on this. An unarmed perp probably would have to chased (I have seen this happen - it was amazing!).
Any rioters should be treated harshly.
