DEVELOPING STORY: California businessman Norman Hsu, a former New York apparel executive and major contributor to Democratic candidates and causes, failed to appear for a bail reduction hearing Wednesday, leading to speculation that he again is a fugitive from the law, FOX News has learned. I heard something briefly on the radio but noe enough to decipher what happened....Someone took an open mike into the ladies room and flushed during the Presidents speech on Katrina????

Is it just me or does it seem like Iran is picking a fight? If so, what is their motivation? Do they already have the bomb, and hope to use our attack as cover for a launch on Israel? our troops in the region? wave of prestaged terror here? Are they trying to use an external enemy to solidify power and to distract an increasingly hostile populace? Are they simply trying to find the boundaries of Western will in general, and American will in particular? The risk for us being that if we don't have the will to finish this...

What exactly is it when people or mods say zot on some of these threads? I've been noticing it lately but never really figured out what it was for? Thanks..

I got the zot for posting a vanity critical of Fox News. It's Why You And I Hate Fox News. Perhaps ill-advised, and I wasn't in a good humor that night, but I've been on FR for seven years, posting fairly regularly and familiar with the luminaries. I'd like to have my old i.d. back. I've written to the administrators twice with no answer, and finally signed up again because I like to post on the Daily Talk thread.

The 2008 Presidential campaign will not include Al Gore. I'm reporting tonight that the former Vice President and 2000 Democratic Presidential nominee will not run for President. I've been given this scoop from a perfect source who informed me that the purpose of this disclosure at this time is to end speculation about a campaign that will never occur. So, now that Al Gore is out... what does this mean for the likely 2008 battle between Hillary and John Kerry?
