A Pennsylvania lawmaker had strong words for Donald Trump after the president reportedly joked he would "destroy" a Texas lawmaker's career. In a Facebook post, state Sen. Daylin Leach, D-Montgomery, linked to a Politico story about Trump's meeting with several county sheriffs, including Chester County Sheriff Carolyn Bunny Welsh. According to the website, Harold Eavenson, sheriff of Rockwall County, Texas, brought up the issue of civil asset forfeiture.

It doesn’t really come as any surprise when police chiefs and Sheriffs in Texas urge citizens to legally carry their firearms in public. After all, Texans hold on to the Second Amendment like a life raft within sight of the Lusitania. But as domestic security concerns have spread across the nation, similar messages are showing up in unexpected places. Perhaps the least likely location for this movement to hit the news is New York, but at least in the upstate area that’s been going on in well over a dozen counties. (Press & Sun Bulletin) A Hudson Valley sheriff’s...

A group of sheriffs from different Colorado counties are moving forward with their fight to repeal stricter state gun laws put in place three years ago. Those laws limit the capacity of ammunition magazines and expand background checks on gun purchases in Colorado. Sheriffs like Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario say they are committed to fighting to protect what they say is citizens’ Second Amendment rights. Dozens of current and former sheriffs gathered in Denver on Monday along with gun rights groups at the Byron White Courthouse. Many of those individuals are named in a lawsuit which challenges Colorado’s new...

The current Sheriff is Scott Israel; he was elected to office in November 2012. As Sheriff, Israel has made it a point to reach out to diverse crowds, including those who could be considered enemies of the U.S. and her allies. Broward Sheriff Scott Israel’s 2015 radical Muslim tour began this past January, when he posed for photos with Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout and a member of Zakkout’s Miami-based AMANA group at a local mosque. Zakkout is a big supporter of Hamas. On his Facebook page, one can find Hamas logos and photos of Hamas militants and leaders, including Hamas founders Ahmed Yassin and...

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson threatened US sheriffs today. Johnson told the sheriffs that they will not receive federal grants they are counting on if the Republican Congress does not fund amnesty.Sheriff Justin Smith from Larimer County Colorado posted this tonight on his Facebook page: I received a very interesting veiled threat letter from Jeh Johnson, the Secretary of Homeland Security addressed to all police chiefs and sheriffs around the country. His letter made it clear that if Congress didn’t send President Obama the DHS funding bill that he wanted (rubberstamping the president’s executive amnesty), local and state public...

It sounds like one of those only-in-San-Francisco tales: San Francisco's sheriff cannot carry a gun because he is on probation. "That doesn't handicap me from being a sheriff," Ross Mirkarimi told me.

Sheriffs from across the nation held came to Capitol Hill Wednesday to warn of the dangers of Pres. Obama’s executive order grant amnesty to an estimated four million illegal aliens. At the press event, hosted by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), the sheriffs called on Congress to defund the president’s amnesty edict. Sheriff Chuck Jenkins (Frederick County, Maryland; Maryland Sheriff’s Association) said Obama’s action is attracting transnational gangs: “You ask, why am I here? Because what we see in Frederick County, Maryland, are the same problems that the border county sheriffs see. We see human trafficking, we see an insurgence of...

Gheen, of ALIPAC, said he had a suggestion that he wishes the sheriffs would consider when they pay a visit to the nation’s capital next month. “If the sheriffs are heading to Washington, how about suggesting the sheriffs take some of their best men to D.C. and they use their power and ability to arrest the president of the United States?” Gheen said. “I think if the sheriffs are going to Washington on Dec. 10 and the president continues to violate the Constitution of the United States, that they should consider arresting the president of the United States. What if...

Now, I’m not saying that anyone in the White House is going to listen to anybody else in terms of the Executive Amnesty Plan of 2014. But, theoretically, if they were going to listen to somebody on this subject, you’d think it might be the folks who are tasked with enforcing many of the related laws on a day to day basis. And on the off chance that somebody might actually be listening, there’s a sizable group of sheriffs who would like a word with the President next month. Sheriffs across the country are planning a massive gathering in...

Sheriff Mack: federal snipers at Bundy ranch are mercenaries, hit men Posted on April 18, 2014 by Dr. Eowyn BLM-snipers-outside-of-Bundy-Ranch In an interview with TPN’s Dylan Scott Wednesday, April 16, 2014, Richard Mack, former Arizona county sheriff and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), said: “One of our CSPOA members who was there earlier and got there before I did was phoning me and telling me that they were going to be killed. The federal snipers, several of them — I don’t know if you know this — but they were paid mercenaries. They’re contractors. They’re...

WND EXCLUSIVE The 1 officer who stands between you and militarized police 'I can nullify any kind of unconstitutional law forced upon the people' The office of sheriff was created to address worries exactly like the rampant militarization of police forces in America, claim two sheriffs who have challenged elected officials in their states over what they believe are unconstitutional abuses of power. “Right now the threat to individual Americans from al-Qaida and other groups is nowhere near the threat we face from officials in our own country who are working at taking away our liberties,” Delaware Sheriff Jeff Christopher...

Sami Osmakac toyed with the idea of blowing up Tampa Bay bridges or the sheriff’s office. The defense is arguing that Sami suffers from mental illness. The Tampa Tribune reportedL Sami Osmakac toyed with the idea of blowing up the bridges crossing Tampa Bay or detonating bombs at the sheriff’s office and police departments before settling on a plan to plant explosives in Tampa’s Hyde Park party district and then spraying first responders with automatic gunfire, according to recently released court documents. The planned January 2012 attack, Osmakac said in a “martyrdom video,” would be “payback for Sheikh Osama Bin...

The right to keep and bear arms may have been stolen by the Colorado state legislature, but a posse of local lawmen is riding to the rescue. ... Elected sheriffs, as the top law enforcement officers within their counties, work for the citizens and taxpayers in their jurisdictions, not the federal government. Even the Supreme Court ruled that sheriffs cannot be compelled to follow federal dictates or mandates in a landmark case on gun control. Now, with Obama pushing hard for new restrictions on gun rights — finding strong support from some anti-Second Amendment Democrats in Congress and much of...

Bucking the liberal, knee-jerk trend to restrict the rights of gun owners in other states, the North Carolina General Assembly is on the verge of passing an omnibus Concealed Carry bill (HB937) that only gets better as lawmakers work on it. Unfortunately, the North Carolina Sheriffs Association (NCSA) opposes the bill because of a single provision: the repeal of our pistol purchase permit system. The pistol purchase permit system is a hold-over from the Jim Crow era. The idea of emancipated blacks arming themselves against the white majority was scary to many in power. Southern Democrats and their segregationist allies could...

*VIDEO* Police open fire on a car sitting at crowded DWI checkpointBRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A couple celebrating Father’s Day with their baby found themselves in the middle of a shootout at a DWI checkpoint when officers unloaded on a car sitting in heavy traffic. The couple, Jared and Rose Cleerdin were hoping it wouldn’t be their last Father’s Day together as the officers fired dozens of rounds in the direction of on-coming traffic. Jared Cleerden believes the officers acted way beyond what was necessary for public safety saying, ”Every cop turned around and started unloading like super...

Chiefs of Police Completely Misrepresent Law Enforcement As the gun control “discussion” continues, the liberal politicians resort to their age old tactic when discussing “public safety” matters, which in this case includes limiting our constitutional rights. The specific tactic which I am referring to here is their trotting out a series of Police Chiefs to tell the American people what Law Enforcement thinks. While this tactic may play well with their liberal, gun-grabbing constituency and the average low information voter, it breeds distrust of the cops in those on the opposite side of the subject. The purpose of this article...

A number of Sheriffs around the country have pledged to abide by the Second Amendment and not enforce laws that they believe violate the Constitution. Sixty-seven sheriffs in Florida signed one of those pledges declaring that they would uphold the Second Amendment and protect people’s’ right to keep and bear arms. One of those signatories, Sheriff Nicholas Finch, was arrested by Governor Rick Scott in Florida for actions he took in a case in early March in which Finch made his stand for the Second Amendment. Carl Causey has been appointed to replace him by Governor Scott until July when...

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa referred to state Sen. John Morse as a “criminal” during a fundraiser Tuesday in support of a lawsuit against new gun restrictions. The comment, which drew thunderous applause and a standing ovation from the crowd of about 815, came after Maketa said he and the 54 other sheriffs who filed the lawsuit have been met with “typical rhetoric” despite being open and transparent. “Here’s the most recent one I heard from a senator that comes from this county that I won’t even give him the honor of mentioning his name: ‘There are a very...

I spent Thursday, Friday and Monday mornings calling every county sheriff's office in Missouri. Those guys are hard to track down. Many of them are working sheriffs and catching them in the office is rare. Out of the 114, I was able to speak with forty-five, which is nearly 40 percent, a fairly good sample. I asked each of them the same three questions: Do you support authorizing specially designated people to carry concealed weapons on school grounds?Do you agree with the age requirement for a concealed carry permit being lowered to 19?Do you support the effort to make the...
