President Trump is holding a press conference this morning, where he is expected to make a major announcement on his plans to end violent crime and homelessness in Washington, DC.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump announced over the weekend that he will hold a press conference this morning, and it will “essentially, stop violent crime in Washington, D.C.”
”It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!!” the President said.
.... Snip....
The President is expected to begin his press conference in the White House briefing room at 10 am ET.

What statutes currently exist to control D.C.? There is a government structure, but does Trump actually have authority to supersede it?
Bing search is ready. If you search for “dc crime out of control “ it shows you a graphic that says crime is down.
You cannot trust Bing.
The place is a mess like all US cities.
Wonder if any of the “reporters” will ask him anything about crime? Its an uncomfortable topic for them.
Shrink the federal property and give the rest to Maryland/Virginia.
Having lived there (2010 to 2013)....I can say 4 things would help:
1. Curfew for all 17-year old and younger kids at 9 PM weekdays and 10 PM weekends.
2. Double security on Metro and at stations.
3. 4,000 homeless exist in DC. Give them a choice...either clean up at a rehab outside of the city, leave the city entirely, or face jail for vagrancy.
4. Bring in 100 Nat’l Guardsmen for Union Station, and enforce vagrancy laws. Bring in a totally different group of judges to handle this....non-local type.
The military will protect federal law enforcement and buildings, like they did in Los Angeles this summer. They are authorized to do this. They did not make any arrests.
Aint the first time something like this went on.
Hoover did it and it didnt go real well for him.
Send the homeless to Bel Air and Martha’s Vineyard. The weather’s great at both places this time of the year.

It was Army Chief of Staff Douglas MacArthur’s fault because he exceeded his orders. George Patton was also involved.
Hoover took the heat.
1) Trump has no authority over law enforcement in DC but can use Federal resources to protect Federal property, other than the Capitol which is under the authority of the Speaker of the House.
2) Congress, on the other hand, is supposed to legislate for DC "in all cases whatsoever". This phrase, taken by the Founders from the British Declaratory Act of 1766, had profound meaning for all of them since it was passed by Parliament to make clear that local government in America had no meaning, and that legislatures could be and would be dissolved at will from London as needed.
So - Congress has the power, and the responsibility, to deal with DC.
Congress abdicated its responsibility.
Shrink the federal property and give the rest to Maryland/Virginia.
The whole point of Federal control of the whole District is to prevent a potentially hostile state government from having the Fed. Government at its mercy. Imagine MD police ready to arrest FedGov employees/officials when they left the office.
Then there’s the 23rd Amendment giving residents of the District three electoral votes for President.
Congress is designated by the Constitution to exercise control over the District. In the 60s it granted DC self-rule, retaining veto power over District legislation. Taking power back would imply that DC is incapable of self rule, like many urban areas, which might well be true, but cannot be uttered aloud.
HE’S PISSED OFF.
Trump is on deck and he is raising wholly hell over crime, filth, and crazy.
