Former President Donald Trump said Thursday that the top civilian honor was better than the top military honor because those recipients are in 'very bad shape' or deceased. He made the comments at an antisemitism event at his Bedminster, New Jersey resort, where he lauded Miriam Adelson, the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who long bankrolled Republican political campaigns. Trump reminded the audience how he had presented Miriam Adelson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018, mispeaking and saying it's equivalent to the 'Congressional Medal of Honor.' The highest military decoration is simply referred to as the Medal...

Lesbian and bisexual women are dying much younger than their straight peers, according to a new study. During the survey, recently published in JAMA, Harvard researchers pulled from a previous study of women who worked as nurses and were born between 1945 and 1964, 90,833 of whom had disclosed their sexuality. Of those, 89,821 (98.9 percent) identified as heterosexual, 694 (0.8 percent) identified as lesbian, and 318 (0.4 percent) identified as bisexual. When compared with heterosexual participants, LGB participants showed earlier mortality. Bisexual women had the shortest life expectancy, dying 37 percent sooner than heterosexual women. Elder of Ziyon đźđ± @elderofziyon: Here's a picture of Jihad Mishrawi, a @BBCNews reporter holding his dead son Omar in Gaza in 2012. There were numerous reports, especially from the @BBC, saying Omar died from an Israeli airstrike. But months later the UN l (and other sources) admitted that the baby was killed by a Hamas rocket that fell short. https://elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2013/03/un-verifies-that-bbc-reporters-son-was.html Omar is far from the only child that has been killed by Gaza terrorist rockets aimed at Israel over the years. In one day in 2021 Hamas rockets - in three separate incidents - killed 16 Gazans, including 8...

A significant minority of Russia's 200,000 Ukraine War casualties have been due to non-combat causes, with many linked to alcohol abuse, the United Kingdom Defense Ministry assessed in a Sunday morning intelligence update. The UK Defense Ministry said that Russian sources have indicated a high number of alcohol-linked incidents, crimes and deaths among deployed Russian soldiers. "Russian commanders likely identify pervasive alcohol abuse as particularly detrimental to combat effectiveness," said the UK Defense Ministry. "However, with heavy drinking pervasive across much of Russian society, it has long been seen as a tacitly accepted part of military life, even on combat...

The longer only one side of the so-called Palestinian Catastrophe is cultivated, the longer hatred will continue to be nurtured, while historical facts point to Palestinians openly supporting Nazi propaganda during WWII. We're told time and time again that we must recognize the Palestinian "narrative" of the conflict's origins in order to understand their pain, and usher in peace. The truth is that we need to do just the opposite. The Palestinian narrative has already become widely endorsed by many in the academia, and the more it continues to gain recognition, the more miniscule the chances for peace will become....

House members led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., introduced a resolution Monday calling for U.S. recognition of the "Nakba," a term meaning "catastrophe" that is typically used by Palestinians to refer to the establishment of the state of Israel. The resolution was submitted a week and a half after Israeli Independence Day, which coincides with Palestinian commemoration of Nakba Day. It calls for the U.S. to "commemorate the Nakba through official recognition and remembrance," while claiming that this "refers not only to a historical event but to an ongoing process of Israel's expropriation of Palestinian land and its dispossession of...

Gun rights have never been more at stake than in this November's election, and Democratic politicians are now attempting to remove the NRA from the debate. At the very least, they want to run up the NRA's legal bills so that it won't have funds left over for political campaigns.

January 16, 2020 (Catholic League) â Earlier this week, we contacted the Speaker of the House in the Utah legislature, Rep. Brad R. Wilson, expressing our outrage over a bill sponsored by his Democratic colleague, Rep. Angela Romero, that would vitiate the seal of Confession. The pretext of her legislation is knowledge of the sexual abuse of minors learned in the confessional. We are very pleased with the response by Speaker Wilson: he is opposed to the Romero bill. Rep. Romero is now doubling down, saying she is going forward with her bill, accusing me of making a âsoft threat.â...

The police said other camera models, including the LE-4, are not affected by the order.

If downtown is the heartbeat of Minneapolis, then its collective soul resides on Hennepin Avenue, the corridor thatâs long served as its cultural, commercial, and entertainment epicenter. But these days, visitors arenât seeing the intoxicating glimmer Schmidt beheld so long ago. Talk to civic leaders, downtown workers, and couples descending from Burnsville, and theyâll tell you to drive down Hennepin with the windows open once the sun has called it day. If you watch and listen, the feeling isnât one of good vibrations. Itâs energy with a serrated edge, the vibe that comes from a city turning mean. Apocalypse now...
