I’m getting sick of the rewriting of 2008 presidential campaign history as K Street Republicans continue to assault Sarah Palin in the fear that a similarly conservative Republican will rise to the top of the VP sweepstakes. It has been so fashionable in D.C. Republican circles to bash the Palin nomination as a mistake, ill-conceived or even disastrous, that even Dick Cheney has gotten into the act. These self-serving attempts to change history are nothing more than a smear campaign designed to influence the Romney VP pick by obscuring the truth that the choice of Sarah Palin to be the...

There's a story on the national journal about how tensions are rising again between the party's establishment and Demint. Does this mean that the GOP-E is planning on doing what it did in 2010 - that is, not support every candidate we the people nominated? Let's examine this logically: Deb Fischer is up in the polls by 18 points, yet the republicans have still found some reason to go out and whine. Why? There's only one answer. They're sick of us conservatives thinking that this is a conservative party, and they don't like it. They want the good old by...

The fact is that Mitt Romney is an unprincipled chameleon with ZERO core beliefs... a synthetic, calculated opportunism has taken their place. Meanwhile, most of what he actually has said and done betrays a Big-Government social liberal. Other fun facts regarding this 'conservative' fraud'spast actions, positions, and failures: refused to endorse the 1994 GOP "Contract with America" distanced himself from the Reagan legacy: "I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush" lost GOP House seats in both Massachusetts elections of his tenure, 2004/2006 (leaving Republicans with the least # of seats there since the Civil War) strongly supported gay rights...

Delaware Republican Christine O’Donnell criticized the national GOP for not spending money on her campaign, but the long-shot Senate nominee was sitting on a mountain of cash. O’Donnell reported having $924,800 in the bank after the election was over, according to her post-general election campaign fundraising report, filed Thursday. As the poll numbers roll in and the sound bytes accumulate, the possibility of a Sarah Palin presidential campaign seems more and more likely. Whether or not the Republican party will say okey-dokey to her candidacy in the primaries is even more uncertain than if she's going to run or not, but if you ask me, she plans on at least giving it a shot. Sure, she hasn't actually come out and said "I will run for President in 2012," but she has promised us she would "give it a shot," assuming a few vague qualifiers be fulfilled. The success...

FOR MITT Romney, running for president in 2012 looks a lot like running for governor in 2002. All he has to do is elbow aside a Republican woman, run against Democratic leaders and their liberal lockstep politics, and keep talking about the economy. Eight years ago, that was the Massachusetts game plan. After Romney thrust himself into the governor’s race as the can-do candidate with a Harvard MBA, acting Governor Jane Swift took herself out of it. Romney then turned Shannon O’Brien, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate and the Democratic leaders of the Massachusetts Legislature, into the so-called “gang of three.’’...

Oh boy, here we go again. Mitt Romney has his eyes on a major political office -- if only that damned woman would get out of the way! Romney, of course, is running for president in 2012, and has been from the moment he used a comically red meat-laden CPAC speech to depart from the 2008 GOP race. And his prospects, at least for the Republican nomination, aren't bad: He's the next-in-line guy, he'll have plenty of cash, and there just aren't that many other options. But then there's Sarah Palin. She may ultimately decide not to run, but this...
