Far-left members of the City Council want to make Big Apple landlords do their work for them — or face five-figure fines. A new bill would require property owners to provide tenants with contact information for all elected officials representing their respective neighborhoods. Under the bill, introduced last week by Brooklyn Councilwoman Jennifer Gutiérrez, landlords would be required to supply new and existing tenants with hard-copy notices listing the names, office addresses and phone contacts for all federal, state and city pols representing their neighborhoods.

Gov. Kathy Hochul reportedly authorized payment of nearly $2 million in taxpayer money for outside ghostwriters to help draft her State of the State speeches. Most of the money was paid to Deloitte Consulting and the Boston Consulting Group to help the state’s first female governor shape her vision, according to the New York Times. Former President Donald Trump – who himself has come under fire for Republicans’ lackluster performance in the midterm elections – is blaming Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for the party’s apparent failure to flip the chamber’s majority in its favor. “Mitch McConnell, the Republicans Broken Down Senate Leader, does nothing about this,” Trump on social media Friday night. “He’s too busy spending vast amounts of money on bad Senator Lisa [Murkowski] of Alaska when Kelly [Tshibaka] is FAR better.” Yet Trump’s own spending choices in this year’s midterm elections have also drawn criticism.

A Brooklyn lawmaker set off a social media storm Wednesday by denying the existence of Palestine and accusing Rep. Ilhan Omar of being an anti-Semite. “Palestine does not exist,” tweeted Councilman Kalman Yeger, who represents Midwood and other neighborhoods with large Jewish populations.

A Manhattan legislator said Monday that she “appreciates” the vandal who defaced a Florida statue honoring the sailor kissing a female nurse in Times Square to mark the end of World War II because it was a “forced” smooch. “I appreciate someone recognizing that a random man grabbing a random woman is completely inappropriate,” City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal, who chairs the Committee on Women, told The Post after a hearing on adding more monuments in the city honoring women and minorities.
