A Treasury Department employee has been charged with leaking confidential banking reports of suspects charged in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Federal prosecutors say Natalie Mayflower Sours Edwards is set to appear in court Wednesday in Virginia. The 40-year-old Edwards is a senior official at the department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. She’s accused of leaking the material to a journalist — who’s not named in court papers. Prosecutors say reports on Paul Manafort, Richard Gates and Maria Butina were among those leaked. …

The House Intelligence Committee has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony from former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign aide Richard Gates. "As part of our oversight work, the House Intelligence Committee is continuing to examine the deep counterintelligence concerns raised in Special Counsel Mueller's report, and that requires speaking directly with the fact witnesses," the committee's chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), said in a statement on Thursday. Schiff noted that both Flynn and Gates cooperated extensively with special counsel Robert Mueller as part of his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, but said...

You might remember back in May 2018 when sketchy porn lawyer Michael Avenetti was releasing U.S. Treasury notifications on Michael Cohen received from an unknown source within the Treasury Department. You might also remember when New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow wrote a sympathetic article after talking to the leaking treasury official. As a result the Treasury Inspector General began an investigation. Today, a U.S. Treasury employee named Natalie Mayflower Sours-Edwards was arrested and charged with leaking to numerous reporters multiple financial reports about suspicious financial transactions related to: Paul Manafort, Richard Gates, Maria Butina, and others.

Former Trump campaign adviser Richard Gates is scheduled to testify Monday against his longtime business partner, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort. NBC News reported that Gates, considered the prosecution's star witness, is slated to testify late Monday afternoon in federal court in Alexandria, Va. Prosecutors last week said they had "every intention" of bringing Gates to the stand after Assistant U.S. Attorney Uzo Asonye initially cast doubt on whether he would testify. Gates pleaded guilty in February as part of a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller. He was charged with one count of conspiracy against the U.S. and one...

Lawyers for Richard Gates, a former Trump campaign aide charged with tax fraud and money laundering last year as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, have filed a motion to leave the case. Gates's lawyers filed the motion Thursday, though the reason for their leaving was not made public. "Pursuant to Local Rule 44.5(d), undersigned counsel hereby move to withdraw as counsel of record in this case effective immediately for the reasons set forth in Exhibit 1 which is the subject of a motion to be filed under seal," the filing reads. The motion by Gates's lawyers comes...
