REDLANDS (CBSLA) – A large three-alarm commercial fire engulfed an Amazon Distribution Center in Redlands early Friday morning. The blaze was reported at 5:30 a.m. at 2255 West Lugonia Ave., in the area of the 10 Freeway and Mountain View Avenue. Video from the scene showed huge flames and plumes of black smoke shooting hundreds of feet into the air as Redlands Fire Department crews battled the blaze. It’s unclear if anyone was hurt. The 10 Freeway was shut down in both directions, Caltrans reports. The eastbound side was closed at Mountain View Avenue and the westbound side was closed...

When a 28-year-old man contacted police Tuesday in Redlands, California, to report being stabbed on the street that morning, he left out a key detail, police said. [snip] That’s when they discovered the man had earlier exposed himself to Molina at Jennie Davis Park, police told The Redlands Daily Facts. The man fled, pursued by Molina, who caught up to him on West Brockton Avenue, about a 15-minute walk from the park. After a brief argument, Molina stabbed the man and ran away, police told KTLA.

Several of Syed Farook's neighbors told ABC News they noticed "suspicious activity" at the home of the San Bernardino shooter, as well as his mother's home at another location. No reports were made, however, for fear of being accused of racial profiling. One of Farook’s neighbors told ABC 7 Los Angeles that "he was friendly" and "good with children." Another seemed dumbfounded, saying he "just wouldn’t expect" Farook to commit a mass shooting. Dane Adams mentioned a police presence at what looked like a "domestic violence dispute" a few months prior. Otherwise, he said, nothing happened in or around the...

“A man who has been working in the area said he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks, but decided not to report anything since he did not wish to racially profile those people.”The same thing happened several years ago in the Fort Dix jihad plot: the young man who inadvertently discovered the plot initially hesitated to contact police, fearing that to do so might be racist. This is what 14 years of pounding in the media from Hamas-linked CAIR and the Left has done: make people think that defending themselves and their country is...

Authorities on Wednesday night continued to investigate a Redlands home tied to Syed Farook, a suspect identified in connection with the mass shootings that killed at least 14 people and injured at least 17 people at a social services center in San Bernardino on Wednesday morning. A few hours after the mass shooting, authorities followed a tip to the home on Center Street in Redlands. As officers approached, the suspects fled in a dark SUV. A police pursuit ensued, ending back in San Bernardino, where a gunbattle broke out. Two suspects - one male and one female - were killed...

We told you the other day that concerned citizens have stepped forward in Redlands, CA to question their local elected government about any plans they might have heard about to resettle refugees in Redlands.  Of special concern are the Syrian Muslims now expected to arrive in large numbers in the coming months. This is new…. CAIR is the Council on American Islamic Relations and is active (and makes news) in demanding rights for Muslims in America.  However, it is only recently that they have become publicly involved in the Refugee Admissions Program of the UN/US State Department as we told you about...

A man who was linked Wednesday to the San Bernardino, Calif., shootings was described by someone who identified himself as his father as a Muslim who was "very religious." NBC News has reported that one of the suspects killed by police after the shootings at the Inland Regional Center is Syed Farook. Farook and a woman were killed in a gunfight with police in nearby Redlands after the rampage at the center that killed 14 people and wounded 17 others. San Bernardino County records showed that someone with that name was an employee at the county's Environmental Health Department. The...

School district officials were investigating a photo circulating on social media on Wednesday of a group of cheerleaders from Redlands East Valley High School posing in what appeared to be gang attire. The picture showed some of the girls had stuffed their shirts to look pregnant, while others flashed gang signs and were holding simulated weapons. Reaction to the photo was mixed. One parent commented “it’s really sad,” after viewing the photo on Facebook. Another parent thought it was just a harmless joke. “I think they’re just being teenagers, having fun, being silly,” parent Sherry Garcia said.
  • Redlands Tea Party April 15th, 2010 (Pics)

Welcome FReepers and Tea Party activists. There was a great tea party in Redlands that took place at the corner of Redlands Blvd and Orange St Thursday. It was loads of fun and the folks who attended were all excited and enjoyed the positive, and quite festive atmosphere of the event. Last year there were over 500 people at the Redlands Tea Party, and from what I saw there appeared to be at least that many, and possibly more this time around. I could say more, but I'll just let my pics do the talking. I hope you enjoy them....

Tea Party Infiltrators -Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh My!!! Many have asked about the news that there may be "infiltrators" at tea parties around the nation. A website (crashtheteaparty.org) was recently set up. The creator, though he tried to hide his identity, has been outed; his name is Jason Levin, and he's a middle school teacher in Beaverton, Oregon. He’s on record saying that you might see some of his team in Nazi uniforms at your local tea party pretending to be racists and other offensive characters. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn't it? And one has...

A local Tea Party organizer is in the early stages of challenging the high-powered Rep. Jerry Lewis for the Republican nomination to represent his district in the House of Representatives. Kathleen Lane Schneider, 59, of Redlands is a graphic designer and organizer for the Redlands Tea Party Patriots. She is one of two GOP candidates .. The district, California's 41st, includes the Redlands area, San Bernardino Mountain communities, a.. Even if the kind of populist sentiment that has fueled tea partyers across the United States is strong in the 41st, Schneider or any challenger to Lewis faces a tough prospect...

Thanks for viewing this week's FReep. With Kelly having to work late and Mary Bell unable to come out due to family business, I assumed I would be doing a solo FReep this Friday and that things would be on the slow side. Thankfully I was wrong. First a young lady walked by, stopped, and thanked me. She then told me she had a brother in the Navy stationed on a ship in the Persian Gulf. Next a guy walking by stopped, shook my hand and thanked me. A short time later a lady in a car getting ready to...

Welcome to my post for this week's FReep. For the last couple of months my computer has been down so I've been unable to post July and August FReeps. Rest assured though, I've been faithfully FReeping the moonbats of Citizens Action For Peace during those months. Attending this FReep was Kelly, fellow FReeper SHATNERFAN1706, and me. There were many honks and waves along with some great comments and a few hand shakes from pedestrians walking by. A teenage girl, with an uncle named Paco who's in the Army and a brother that's going into the Air Force, came over to...

Today's FReep consisted of Mary Bell, Kelly, and me. Despite triple digit temperatures here in redlands we still had a great time and enjoyed seeing the moonbats spirits melt as we got many more honks than they did along with many waves and thumbs up. A man with his two young kids walking by stopped and talked with us a little. He was an Army veteran and he thanked us and said he appreciated what we were doing. Later a middle aged man stopped and thanked us. The moonbats had fewer numbers than usual this Friday and the ones that...

We had clear skies and warm temps for this FReep. It was Mary, Kelly, and me this Friday. About fifteen minutes after I had set everything up a young man named Devan came up to me and shook my hand. He said he had just enlisted in the Army and was going to be a Ranger. He said he appreciated us for supporting him and the rest our troops. We thanked him for his service and he went away with a big smile on his face. A little later a teenage boy walked by and also shook hands and said...

This Friday's two man FReep was wet but fun. For a couple days we here in southern California got a taste of the type of weather folks in the Midwest and back east usually endure. Due to a freak spring storm we had heavy showers, hail, snow in the mountains, and even a few small tornadoes in various parts of the region which is odd for southern California, especially this time of year. It was Kelly and me this day and as usual we got more honks than the moonbats did and got many waves and thumbs up. Before Kelly...

Welcome to FReep #16. It was Mary, Kelly, and me for this Friday's FReep. As usual our side received more honks than what the moonbats could ever hope to get and we got many waves, thumbs up, and a few kind words from passing motorists. The moonbats seemed a bit more tired and worn out today. While most of their group usually shows up between 4:30 to 4:45 there were only a handful of them from 4:20 to about 5:15. The rest of the old hippies finally straggled in at about 5:20. One of the moonbats brought his little boy,...

With Kelly having to work late and Mary unable to come out, this Friday's FReep was a one man operation. Despite being by myself I still had a lot of fun. I managed to get more honks than the moonbats did, despite being outnumbered and got a few great comments and even a hug from folks walking by. At first an older lady walking by asked me if she could give me a hug. I accepted and she then told me her husband was a Navy officer and she was happy to see someone standing up for our side. Later...

Welcome to the Redlands FReep #14. For the last couple of weeks my computer has been down so I was unable to post threads for FReeps #12 and #13. I had a good time FReeping on those two Fridays and hope nobody thought I decided to cut & run. Computers are wonderful pieces of technology but they can be a pain when they don't work right. This was was one of our more entertaining FReeps. It was Mary Bell, Kelly, and me taking on the moonbats of Citizens Action For Peace this week. We got many more honks and waves...
