Anyone who watched the lines of people who paid their respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she lay in state at the Supreme Court would have noticed a peculiar atmosphere. The reactions of those filing past her coffin went far beyond ordinary, quiet, and respectful homage to the dead.
