A “memory prosthesis” brain implant has enhanced human memory for the first time. The device is comprised of electrodes implanted in the brain, and is designed to mimic the way we naturally process memories, and can boost performance on memory tests by up to 30 per cent. Penile implant manufacturers in the Twin Cities will be strutting their stuff at a doctors meeting in Chicago this weekend. Minnetonka-based American Medical Systems said Thursday that it will be introducing a new "concealable" penile prosthesis called Spectra during the annual meeting of the American Urological Association. The product is the latest in a series of surgical implants developed by AMS for men with severe cases of erectile dysfunction that aren't helped by other treatments such as drugs like Viagra.
