A woman who went into premature labor at home called 911 for help, but the negligence of the EMTs who responded to the call reportedly contributed directly to the death of her baby. Both EMTs’ licenses have been suspended by the Rhode Island Department of Health. On August 1, Shawn Hoyle and Jarrod Martin responded to a call regarding a woman in labor. According to the investigation, when they arrived, the mother was in the bathroom, having already delivered her baby. She had left the umbilical cord intact, and her baby was in the toilet. Martin and Hoyle cut the...

Inside what look like oversized ziplock bags strewn with tubes of blood and fluid, eight fetal lambs continued to develop — much like they would have inside their mothers. Over four weeks, their lungs and brains grew, they sprouted wool, opened their eyes, wriggled around, and learned to swallow, according to a new study that takes the first step toward an artificial womb. One day, this device could help to bring premature human babies to term outside the uterus — but right now, it has only been tested on sheep. It’s appealing to imagine a world where artificial wombs grow...

Dustin Kiggins thinks of himself as “one of the lucky ones†because his parents gave him a chance at life when doctors said he should be aborted. Before he was born, doctors told his parents that he could have serious physical and mental health problems. They warned his mother of the possibility of infection and suggested that she should abort him, he said. But his parents refused to give up on him. Kiggins was born after just 24 weeks gestation on Nov. 24, 1993, weighing 1.5 pounds. Despite a long stay in the hospital as an infant, Kiggins said he...

In a medical first, a woman in Sweden has given birth after receiving a womb transplant, the doctor who performed the pioneering procedure said Friday. The 36-year-old mother received a uterus from a close family friend last year. Her baby boy was born prematurely but healthy last month, and mother and child are now at home and doing well. The identities of the woman and her husband were not disclosed. […] The feat opens up a new but still experimental alternative for some of the thousands of women each year who are unable to have children because they lost a...

Abortion to “PREVENT†Premature Birth—The “Cure†IS the Disease Preterm Birth Linked to Induced Abortion by Rebecca G. Oas, Ph.D. | Reproductive Research Auditreproductiveresearchaudit.com/preterm-birth-linked-to-induced-abortion-and-not-a-bit-prematurely/A $200 million per year “Philanthropic Charitable†Foundation Promotes ABORTION as “The Cure†for Premature Birth—a “Cure†not merely worse than the disease, Abortion CAUSES the Disease. The Medical Research Establishment is so heavily invested in abortion that it is willing to undergo DERANGEMENT OF ITS FUNDAMENTAL SCIENTIFIC OBJECTIVITY rather than contradict the ‘abortion is safe’ dogma. It’s as if someone blew the all-clear.A recent study found a “strong independent relationship” between a history of abortion and...

My story begins in mid-December 2001. I was newly married, healthy, excited and shocked to be carrying twins! All had been going along in the pregnancy just fine until one Saturday morning. I noticed something was not quite right so I called my doctor, hoping he would say, “Don’t worry. Everything will be just fine.” I had just been at his office the day before for a routine check-up. He told me that from this point forward, even though I was only 26 weeks along in my pregnancy, to call if I sensed anything out of the ordinary. That’s called...

Medical Journal Confirms Abortion Associated With Increased Premature Birth Washington, DC -- A new report in a prestigious medical journal confirms what previous studies have shown: abortion is associated with an increased risk of premature birth in subsequent pregnancies. Although the link is well-established, women are not normally informed of the risk when they are counseled at abortion centers. http://LifeNews.com/nat6644.html

British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology Reveals Abortion Boosts Odds of Premature Births, Cerebral Palsy and Breast Cancer Researcher Brent Rooney says, "Since the British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology is very prestigious, its abortion-preemie revelation is HUGE." On Sept. 16, 2009 Dr. Prakesh Shah (U. Toronto) had his abortion-preemie 'study of studies' published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Using data from 37 prior studies, Dr. Shah reported that 1 prior induced abortion boosted relative odds of a premature birth by 35% ...

Washington, DC -- The March of Dimes released a report on Wednesday chiding the U.S. for failing to improve premature birth numbers and giving the country a "D" for its performance. However the charity's report includes no mention of the link between premature birth and an easily avoidable risk factor: abortion. Complete story at: http://www.LifeNews.com/nat4570.html

Some backbench Bills are destined for stillbirth, and Ann Winterton’s Bill yesterday was one of them. It would have compelled women who wanted an abortion to have counseling and to be given information about the possible effects. It was seen off, terminated, 107 votes for, 182 against. Pity. There was a useful point of principle there. It is that abortion has its own costs, not all of which are obvious, but which you jolly well ought to know about before you have one. You can take what view you like of the main effect, namely, that at the end of...

Against all odds (abortion) By Monica Sattley February 10, 2003 Hunter Hill is battling against a premature birth "Welcome to Sonic ... (sniff) ... Can I take your order? (sniffle)." Had the restaurant been walk-in instead of drive-in, a swipe across the eyes of the cashier to remove a tear would have accompanied the sad greeting. It was July 16, 2002, and the Sonic employees at 1703 Military Road had just heard the nerve-racking news that a son had been born to their assistant manager - four months early. At just 1 pound, 4 ounces, Hunter Brant Hill's condition was,...
