On Friday, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after he told a rideshare driver that he killed someone and needed to leave the scene. Deputies responded to the 2800 block of Linville Ridge Lane in Pflugerville around 7:37 p.m. The rideshare driver called 911 and said a man approached her vehicle and told her about the crime. When deputies entered the house, they found a man in his 20s dead on the bathroom floor. He had been shot. Detectives were able to identify 20-year-old Alian Shamar Morrison Davis as a suspect. The Texas Department of Transportation has a contractor lined up to add a lane to each side of Texas 130 through Pflugerville, a popular commuter route that often backs up during rush hour. But the $36.7 million contract with OHL Construction is now caught up in the freeze on toll road projects — even though the project would be an expansion of an existing toll road, funded with toll road revenue. It would not use money from the gas, sales and energy taxes that have been the target of grass-roots anti-toll groups.“The planning and (bidding) has been done. The contractor is ready...

After the devastating attacks in Paris, some Muslims have been threatened and even attacked. But one little boy didn’t want to just stand by after a mosque in his hometown was desecrated. The Islamic Center of Pflugerville, a mosque in a strip mall in the suburbs of Austin, Texas, was vandalized on Monday. On the way to morning prayers, community members of the mosque found feces smeared on the sidewalk and torn pages of the Quran, the Islamic holy book, scattered outside the center. When her 7-year-old-son, Jack, heard about what happened to the local mosque, he wanted to help...

SNIPPET: "Actually, two have been convicted by a jury for using their nightclubs to launder the proceeds of drug and weapons deals, one was acquitted of money laundering but has pled guilty to a drug trafficking charge, and one of those convicted of money laundering has now been charged with tax evasion. And that's not to mention the failure to pay state liquor taxes and fees, the unsolved murder of a one-time business partner, and various immigration-related issues. Money was transferred in to a relative and known Hizballah operative in Lebanon, and there are strong ties to the Lebanese expat...

According to law enforcement authorities they are also a one-family crime wave. They are involved in murder, money laundering, drug dealing–and they have a brother back in Lebanon who is part of Hezbollah.
