"We must firmly resist this racist, anti-communist witch hunt and remain committed to building an international peace movement," said Code Pink and ANSWER Coalition. On Monday, anti-war organizations across the United States issued an open letter to reject a trend that targets China and to call on people to reject what they call the "new McCarthyism." "From The New York Times to Fox News, there's a resurgence of the Red Scare that once shattered many lives and threatened movements for change and social justice," said the letter titled "McCarthyism is back: Together we can stop it." It warned the new...

Lost on the President Donald Trump-hating pundits who weighed in on the second and final debate with former Vice President Joe Biden was Trump's energy and focus. The man just recovered from COVID-19. Male and 74 years old, Trump is in the "high-risk" category. His weight makes him "comorbid." Yet, there he was, still throwing heat at the end of the standing 90-minute debate, having spoken earlier that day at a typically raucous love fest/campaign rally. Trump handily defeated Biden, who noticeably tired by the end of this second and final debate. Yes, nearly all polls show Biden ahead both...

For over one hundred years, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded. In that time, this honor has been viewed as the ultimate prize for any political leader. Recipients are supposed to be great diplomats who have brokered historic peace agreements. In contrast, the recipients are often left-wing politicians who have a suitable political agenda for the five-person Nobel Peace Prize committee. Despite their efforts to end the plague of communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, neither Pope John Paul II nor Ronald Reagan received the Nobel Peace Prize. Instead, it was awarded to Mikhail Gorbachev, a communist...

It was an atypical August summer day in Washington, D.C., 50 years ago next week. Temperatures were in the low 80s, about 10 degrees cooler than normal. Skies were partly cloudy. Most government officials were vacationing. I was a young copyboy at the NBC News Washington bureau. Correspondent Jack Perkins asked me to accompany him to hear a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lincoln Memorial. What I knew about African-Americans ("negroes" they were called then when people wanted to be polite; much worse when they did not) was limited to my experience with two maids employed...

We are told by careful pollsters that half of the American people believe that American troops should be brought home from Iraq immediately. This news discourages supporters of our efforts there. Not me, though: I am relieved. Given press coverage of our efforts in Iraq, I am surprised that 90 percent of the public do not want us out right now. Between January 1 and September 30, 2005, nearly 1,400 stories appeared on the ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news. More than half focused on the costs and problems of the war, four times as many as those that discussed...

THE FAKE "PEACE" - PRO 'PALESTINIAN' MOVEMENT, AN INTERGARL PART OF ENABLERS OF GENOCIDE PEACE, the real peace and even the term 'peace' - another casualty of the Arab Muslim Palestinian WAR!The Islamo Arabs know all too well how soft a typical Jewish heart is, by playing on the 'Jewish guilt' how "poor" their conditions are [despite of the real cause being themselves and its self destructive cult of hatred and Jihad, allocating all resources for anti-Israel propaganda rather than advancing in life, rejecting any change in its education of 'death cult'], they have been successful in gathering many Jews to...

On March 12, 1975, Democrat Rep. (now Senator and Presidential candidate) Chris Dodd from Connecticut stated on the floor of the U.S. House: “The greatest gift our country can give the Cambodian people is not guns but peace. And the best way to accomplish that goal is by ending military aid now.” The American Congress cut off all military aid to Cambodia and South Vietnam. This is what happened one month and five days later as a result of Chris Dodd’s and other Democrats’ “gift of peace”: On April 17th, 1975 the Khmer Rouge, a communist guerrilla group led by...

Berlin EARLIER THIS MONTH, several hundred people gathered in Nuremberg, the site of an Iran-Mexico soccer match, for a protest. Their concern was that Iran's president might fly to Germany to attend the World Cup match. According to a German peace activist newsletter, the crowd of protesters was most unimpressive, a bunch of losers really. Those denouncing Iran's head of state were a motley crew of "Christian Crazies," "anti-German Germans," and "cheering Persians," the last being "loyalists of the mass-murdering regime of the shah."It's not the first time I have wondered about Germany's real peace activists. Speaking of mass murder,...

Cindy Sheehan said that before her son was killed in Iraq, she didn't buy into the idea that one person could make a difference. Now, she does. Young people should resist the American military war machine and instead fight for global peace and prosperity, Sheehan told a receptive audience of about 200 at the University of Hawaii-Hilo on Monday, before another appearance across the island in Kailua-Kona. After her son, Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan, was killed April 4, 2004 in Iraq, Sheehan began traveling the world speaking out against the war. "I need to stop this war," she said. "They...

Preparing to greet the commies - Early Saturday Morning DStarr chooses a sign from her arsenal as she prepares to confront the leftist march. This past Saturday, March 18, 2006 we conducted our third annual FReep in commemoration of the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As in past years, leftists marched through the streets of Fayetteville, NC (home of Fort Bragg and Pope Airforce Base) and congregated in Rowan Park for their day of music and speeches, coordinated by NC Peace and Justice Coalition. The support the troops rally was conducted on the hillside overlooking Rowan Park. Wolfpat's sound...

Martin Luther and Coretta King and the victim industry Mary Mostert February 13, 2006 Martin Luther King and his wife, Coretta, were people of my generation. As young people born and raised in the segregated South we were all concerned about making changes in the illogical and backward culture of segregation. The Kings were black, and I was white. Martin and I were born in different Southern states 3 weeks apart. Coretta was a couple of years older but she and I had a somewhat similar background. We both lived in Alabama as children, we both walked to a one...

The phony peaceniks who protested in Washington Saturday's demonstration in Washington, in favor of immediate withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq, was the product of an opportunistic alliance between two other very disparate "coalitions." Here is how the New York Times (after a front-page and an inside headline, one of them reading "Speaking Up Against War" and one of them reading "Antiwar Rallies Staged in Washington and Other Cities") described the two constituenciess of the event: The protests were largely sponsored by two groups, the Answer Coalition, which embodies a wide range of progressive political objectives, and United for Peace...

THE deportation of US activist Scott Parkin has taken place, with the Department of Immigration confirming he was put on a plane out of the country this morning. Peace protesters had gathered at Melbourne Airport early today in anticipation that he was about to be kicked out. Waving signs saying "Thanks for your non-violence, Scott" and "Peace is the Word", the protesters had hoped to get access to Mr Parkin before he was forced to leave. A supporter, Iain Murray, said it was ludicrous that Mr Parkin, a 36-year-old history teacher, was considered a threat to Australia. "The only threat...

Word comes from Matt May of a shocking crime in Indianapolis. The Medal of Honor Memorial, the nation’s only monument to all winners of the Medal of Honor, has been defaced by vandals. In his blog entry, Matt reports that The memorial was defaced with a spray painted "peace" sign, Valentine-shaped heart, obscenties directed at Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, and the traditional sign of anarchists (a circle with an A inside). Matt calls these criminals “cowards for peace.” I have much stronger terminology for them, but will not publish it here. Repairs will take weeks and cost thousands of dollars....

"Straight male seeks Bush supporter for fair, physical fight," reads a recent posting on Craigslist.org, the popular nationwide bulletin board. "I would like to fight a Bush supporter to vent my anger." A joke? No, says Paul Valerio, 34, a graphic designer from Oakland, Calif., who told us yesterday that he's ready to rumble but hasn't gotten any takers yet. "I'm 6-foot-1 and 236 pounds. I think that's a heavyweight category," he said, then warned all comers: "I can hold my own." Guess all we need now to settle this is a willing red-stater and some airfare."
