On June 4, the Senate Health, Education, and Labor Committee held a hearing titled “The Assault on Women’s Freedoms,” during which pro-abortion Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) claimed pro-life lawmakers are inflicting “trauma” on women by protecting children from abortion. “Today we take a close accounting of the trauma Republicans are inflicting on women and families across our country and the damage they are doing to basic reproductive health care through their horrific anti-abortion crusade,” said Murray. “The issue here is simple, and it cuts to the core of American values: freedom.” Three pro-abortion and two pro-life witnesses were present to...

Dear friend, It’s been almost one year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ripped away a woman’s fundamental right to make her own health care decisions—a direct result of a decades-long attack by Republicans to drag women’s rights back by nearly half a century. Since then, the consequences of this ruling have been swift and cruel. Our nation is experiencing a full-blown health care crisis. Women across the country have been denied the health care they need—often putting their lives at risk. In just one year, Republican politicians have stripped 22 million women and counting of their...

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that she believed since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, chaos ensued. Murray said, “We are going to the floor today to offer what’s called the unanimous consent on a number of different bills to help protect the rights of women in this country. Republicans have a choice. They can object and not allow us to proceed but we believe this is a fight we have to be visible on. A year ago, Roe was overturned and women’s rights were ripped away from them and the chaos that...

Zeestephen is a Washington state resident. Yesterday, I received a mass email from Patty Murray in regard to legal abortions as health care. I clicked on every link in her website, but the email is NOT posted there. I have cut and pasted Murray's entire email in Comment #1. Patty Murray appears to be the Democratic Party point person on the abortion issue. Her email to constituents is a political blueprint for the 2024 election.

Washington State Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley has taken the lead over 30-year incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), according to polling. The poll, conducted November 3-5, shows Smiley with a 0.4 percent lead over Murray, sitting at 47.4 percent and 47 percent, respectively. While Smiley has gained momentum, closing a significant gap in the deep blue state of Washington, Murray’s unpopularity has increased to 50 percent, while her favorable rating is 44 percent — a net unfavorability increase from three to six points since October.

Things are getting more interesting in the U.S. Senate race between that barnacle-encrusted boat anchor, Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), and veterans’ activist and nurse Tiffany Smiley, the Republican. RealClearPolitics has moved the race from “leans Democrat” to “toss-up.” One poll predicts that “right now, the Washington Senate race has become ground zero for a wave election upset.” Smiley has been ascendant in recent weeks and has received key aid from Mitch McConnell and his Senate PAC money. She has acquitted herself well on the campaign trail and during debates. A recent poll put Murray up by eight points, but she’s...

Washington’s Senate race between 30-year incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) and Republican Tiffany Smiley has been placed on “upset alert” by the University of Virginia Center for Politics. Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the Center’s political prognosticating publication, also switched the race from “Safe Democratic” to “Likely Democratic.” The move in favor of Smiley also comes as the Republican outraised Murray by nearly double in the third quarter, beating her $6 million to $3.3 million. National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) also put Smiley’s race on his list of pick-up opportunities.

Tiffany Smiley is a moderate Republican who is much closer to my center left politics than Patty Murray. I’m a bipartisan wing Dem, so I don’t vote blue no matter who. I vote either side of the center line for whichever candidate is closest to my values. If the Dems gave me a sensible moderate candidate, I’d be more than happy to consider them. But I can’t even see Patty Murray from where I am. The policies she supports don’t speak to me. I gave her a pass the last couple of times I voted for her, but now that...

If insanity involves an inability or unwillingness to accept and deal with ineluctable realities, then every last Democrat in the United States Senate, all fifty of them, is insane and has no business being anywhere near the levers of power. This was made clear yet again on Sunday, when the entire bloc of those who think of themselves as our intellectual and moral superiors voted against recognizing a fact that has been obvious since the dawn of recorded time. Every last Democrat voted against an amendment to the infamously misnamed Inflation Reduction Act — which will do absolutely nothing to...

Ared wave that some had forecast for Washington’s midterm elections might turn out looking more like a ripple, according to a new Crosscut/Elway poll. Key points: 1. The statewide poll of registered voters has Democrats holding a 19-point lead – 51 to 32 – in the generic ballot for Congress. A similar question for the Legislature showed 54% of those polled planned to vote for Democrats while 34% favored Republicans. 2. Those numbers show Democrats are even more popular in Washington state than they were before the previous congressional election in 2020, according to the results of a similar Crosscut/Elway...

Less than a year ago, a GOP Senate victory in deep blue Washington state would have been unthinkable. But now, Democrats are spending millions on advertising in several once-reliable Democratic strongholds, including Washington, as Republicans build national momentum and push for new Senate pickups. There’s a similar panic in Colorado, where Tuesday’s GOP Senate primary has also drawn millions of dollars in Democratic-funded ads to boost a far-right candidate, a massive last-ditch campaign to keep a moderate Republican off the ballot this fall. Washington’s Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, meanwhile, has spent more than $1 million on television ads in recent...

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was offensive in his words and tone when he compared protesters outside the homes of several Supreme Court justices to the rioters at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. During a Fox News interview, Cruz said, “What we’re seeing these images are the latest manifestation of just how extreme, how radical the Democratic Party is getting. Today’s Democrat Party believes in violence. They believe in mob rule, they believe in intimidation…These thugs have no business at the private homes of any government officials. These...

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the statement below following final approval on a Trump Administration rule that will remove nearly 700,000 people from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). “It’s hard to see this as anything but the President being cruel for cruelty’s sake. There is absolutely no reason to deny struggling individuals the food assistance they need. President Trump may not understand how much damage steps like this cause—but I do and I’m not going to stop fighting to get this heartless rule and others like it reversed.”###

Sen. Pat Murray (D-Wash.), the number three Senate Democrat, called for House Democrats to begin impeachment inquiries on Sunday. "I agree with my fellow members of the Washington delegation that, as we have learned about the gravity of the potential threats to our democracy identified in special counsel Mueller's report, it has become clear that the House should begin proceedings to determine whether the president's action necessitate impeachment," Murray said in a statement on Sunday. Murray joins a growing number of Democrats calling for an impeachment inquiry after Mueller testified on the findings outlined in his 448-page report last week...

(CNSNews.com) - On his way to Vietnam last night, President Donald Trump tweeted his disgust at the Senate's failure on Monday to break the Democrat filibuster of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protect Act: Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children. The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth. This will be remembered as one of the most shocking votes in the history of Congress. If there is one thing we should all agree on, it’s protecting the lives of innocent babies. As CNSNews.com reported...

The Senate is set to escalate a long simmering fight over President Trump's judicial nominees. Republicans are poised to confirm a pick for the influential circuit courts next week without the support of either of the nominee's home-state senators—a first for the Trump era. Eric Miller is the first appeals judge to get a vote on the Senate floor this year, and the 31st of Trump’s presidency. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) set up an initial vote on his Ninth Circuit nomination for Monday evening. “The judicial train is running in the committee and it will soon hit the floor,”...

U.S. Senator Patty Murray blasted President Trump’s plan to declare a national emergency and circumvent Congress to get funding for a wall on the southern U.S. border.Trump’s announcement came minutes before the Senate passed bipartisan legislation to keep federal government agencies funded and avoid a second shutdown of the federal goverment. Murray, Washington state’s senior senator, called the emergency declaration “an outrageous, horrific, and un-American abuse of power.”

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 4, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Sen. Patty Murray, D-WA, blocked the unanimous passage of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act today, a bill which would have required doctors to provide medical care to babies born alive during failed abortions. This was a unanimous consent vote, a mechanism under which the bill passes the U.S. Senate if no senator objects and individual senators’ positions are not recorded. Murray objected to the motion, claiming there are already laws against infanticide. “This is a gross misinterpretation of the actual language of the bill that is being asked to be considered and,...
