World renowned primatologist Jane Goodall has died of natural causes at the age of 91 during her tour of the US. The legendary conservationist is widely known for her ground-breaking work with Chimpanzees, which she began when she travelled to the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanazania in 1960. Actor John Leguizamo has taken out a full-page ad in the New York Times to urge industry insiders voting for Emmy Awards nominees to vote for ânon-white artistsâ because there isnât enough âinclusionâ in the entertainment industry. âAmerica is better when it is inclusive,â the Spawn star wrote. âIt is more profitable. It is more creative! Letâs not give up. Iâm still woke! The University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, has launched a segregated pool activity called âBlack Folx Swim,â which expressly excludes participation by non-black swimmers. âThe aim is to get more Black Folx into a space where they havenât always been welcomed, while providing them the opportunity to learn swimming skills,â the schoolâs website states. Swimming lessons are taught exclusively by âexperienced black swimmers/instructors,â the site adds, noting that the segregated pool time âis dedicated to building a better relationship with water for the Black community.â

A clothing store in downtown Savannah, Georgia, raised some eyebrows recently when it waived a $20 appointment fee for black customers and other people of color while keeping the fee intact for white customers, WJCL-TV reported. A recent influx of black residents in Metro Councilwoman Martha Jane Tassinâs district could complicate her re-election bid this fall.
