“Authorities say a man who was fatally shot by a deputy after pointing a weapon at the deputy in a threatening manner in Mesa was an undocumented immigrant,” Erisa Nakano of ABC15.com reported last January. As a deputy approached the driver’s side door, Castellanos rolled down the window and pulled out an AK47 assault rifle and pointed it at the deputy in a threatening manner… In a December 9 post, blogger The AnarchAngel identifies the deputy as the brother of Noah Antwiler, creator of the popular video game and movie review site “The Spoony Experiment.”  The post links to one...
  • Chris Matthews Is Not Playing Hardball With Operation Fast And Furious

Considering NBC as a collective is ignoring Operation Fast and Furious, I think each show on NBC and MSNBC needs to be examined and called out. The MSNBC website is a complete mess and difficult to navigate. Most websites allow you to sort the results by date or relevance and a certain time period. Not MSNBC! You’re only allowed a keyword. And, for some reason, each article is listed by its latest update rather than its original publishing timestamp (but when you click on the article the date of the last update doesn’t match) so they’re completely out of order....
  • Ex-ATF Official Admits His 'Fast and Furious' Testimony 'Lacked Clarity' (ATF Agent Replies)

The head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' office in Phoenix during the failed “Operation Fast and Furious” acknowledged Wednesday his earlier testimony to a House panel “lacked clarity” and completeness, and he offered new insight into his own mistakes in the investigation and allegations that officials ignored agents’ concerns. “After taking time to reflect and review my testimony from the hearing on July 26, 2011, I realize I could have given clearer, more complete and more direct responses to some questions,” former Special Agent in Charge William Newell said in a 12-page document submitted to the...
  • Veteran Cops Recognize ‘Fast and Furious’ as a Foolhardy Idea

Cops expect to face risks on the job. What they do not expect, what they cannot accept, is when their superiors have a hand in providing the weapons that others will use to kill them. I have withheld judgment on Operation Fast and Furious until now. Surely, I thought, there would emerge some explanation for what on first reading appeared to be a staggering level of stupidity and incompetence on the part of some in the ATF and the Justice Department. They could not possibly, I hoped, have been that obtuse. Having been a police officer for as long as...
  • Reuters Takes Administration Line by Describing Fast & Furious Twice as 'Botched' Operation

Reuters appears to have taken the side of the Obama Administration in the Operation Fast & Furious scandal in which guns were permitted by the Bureau of Alcohol Firearms Tobacco and Explosives in which guns were permitted to be "walked" across the Mexican border via the sale to straw buyers. The Department of Justice has portrayed this as a mere "botched" operation in which "mistakes" were made rather than the result of malignant intent. And if you read this Reuters article about Attorney General Eric Holder's attempt to distance himself from what has been dubbed "Operation Gunwalker" they go out...
  • Exclusive Report: Documents indicate ATF, FBI allowed Indiana ‘crime gun’ sales

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged an Indiana dealer’s cooperation in conducting straw purchases at the direction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  Exclusive documents obtained by Gun Rights Examiner show the dealer cooperated with ATF by selling guns to straw purchasers, and that bureau management later asserted these guns were being traced to crimes. From the confidential source providing the documents: The dealer…was sent a "demand letter," based on the number of traces to him, which was retracted after his attorney pointed out they resulted from his cooperation with ATF. (Strangely, he...
