Former president Barack Obama hasn’t endorsed Kamala Harris’ presidential bid because he doesn’t think she can beat Donald Trump, according to a source close to the Biden family. Following Joe Biden’s shock resignation from the race on Sunday, and his immediate endorsement of the vice president, most of the Democratic elite have been quick to rally behind Harris — but Obama is a notable exception. “Obama’s very upset because he knows she can’t win,” the Biden family source told The Post. “Obama knows she’s just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should...

President Barack Obama isn’t often accused of striking the wrong political chord, but it happened Wednesday when he linked George Floyd’s murder to the Texas school massacre. The 46-year-old Floyd died two years ago Wednesday at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, an anniversary that was largely overshadowed by the horrific slaughter Tuesday of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. “As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer,” Mr....

Former President Barack Obama advised a group of NBA players led by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James to return to the court this week after a brief boycott to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake, according to a report Friday. James reached out to Obama shortly after a tense Wednesday night meeting in which the Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers informally voted to boycott the rest of the NBA playoffs, The Athletic reported. On the phone call, Obama advised James and his fellow players to detail the demands they had in order to resume play. The players broached the...

In his first major speech since leaving office, former President Barack Obama endorsed the idea of providing a universal basic income. Speaking at the Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in South Africa on Tuesday, Obama raised the notion of guaranteed income as a way to reduce what he called "yawning disparities" in wealth, education, and security across different socioeconomic groups. "It's not just money that a job provides," said Obama. "It provides dignity and structure and a sense of place and a sense of purpose. So we're going to have to consider new ways of thinking about these problems, like a...

Former President Barack Obama is expected to be in Monterey Wednesday to attend a private AT&T leadership conference on the Monterey Peninsula. Many celebrities and professional golfers are in town this week because of the 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am. Advertisement Details surrounding Obama's Central Coast visit are very hush-hush. Local Monterey police officers said they have not even been briefed on the visit. It's unclear when the 44th President of the United States' plane is scheduled to arrive. High profile dignitaries often land at the Monterey Jet Center. The Monterey County Sheriff's bomb squad worked with Secret Service...

RUSH: I saw something that was… A new round of criticism from Never Trumpers about Trump, and I’m sitting here thinking, “You know, you want to talk about irony?” You know, some of these Never Trumpers out there are ardent conservatives. You know who they are as well as I do. You know the magazines; you know the blog sites. When you get down to looking at what Trump has done, when you look at Trump’s agenda, you’re gonna find more conservatism than we had with George W. Bush. You’re gonna find more conservatism than we had with George H....

Steve Inskeep: Let me ask a few questions, Mr. President, about America's place in the world and how you see it and how you'd like to move it if you can in the last couple of years that you have. We're speaking at a moment after you've announced that you're restoring diplomatic relations with Cuba. You want to reopen an embassy there. Is there any scenario under which you can envision, in your final two years, opening a U.S. embassy in Tehran?President Hur Hur Durp!: I never say never, but I think these things have to go in steps. You know,...

I thought it might be useful to add up what Obama has done with weapons in his foreign policy. Here's an accounting of how he's handled weapons: Fast and FuriousObama sent 2000 automatic weapons to Mexican drug cartels LibyaEager to show he is a tough guy, Obama toppled Moammar Gaddafi without seeking Congress's approval. He was pompously proud of his refusal to put boots on the ground. Consequently, all sorts of weapons fell into the hands of Al Qaeda-linked groups, including: 20,000 surface to air missiles Obama was happy to send weapons to the Libyan rebels: [...] - The Obama...

Meanwhile, the media has spread new proofs of the U.S. intelligence involvement to chemical attack near Damascus. Hacker got access to U.S. intelligence correspondence and published U.S. Army Col. ANTHONY J. MACDONALD’s mail. Macdonald is General Staff Director, Operations and Plans Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence the Army Staff. It’s about chemical attack in Syria. In the message August 22 Eugene Furst congratulates Col. on successful operation and refers him to Wasington Post publication about chemical attack in Syria. From the Anthony’s wife dialog with her friend it’s clear the video with the children killed in...

If you want to know exactly how stupid Barack Obama truly is, just take a look at this handwritten note that's currently in an auction in Beverly Hills:

As devotees of Barack Obama know all too well, qualities that made him so attractive as a candidate — an affinity for subtle arguments, a tendency to carefully weigh his options — have at times proved less useful in his role as president. That carefulness has been read as indecisiveness. The subtle arguments have sounded, to some ears, like hedging. In response, the president has simplified his rhetoric. The nuances of the 2009 Cairo speech about relations between the U.S. and the Muslim world have given way to chest thumping over killing Osama bin Laden. The sophistication of the speech...

What does he do all day? Are you impressed with the image of Obama-at-work left by Ryan Lizza’s “Obama Memos” piece in the New Yorker? The President’s decision-making method–at least as described in the piece–seems to consist mainly of checking boxes on memos his aides have written for him. … They offer him four stimulus packages, none bigger than $890 billion. He does not ask for more but does push for an “inspiring ‘moon shot’” initiative. At first it’s a “national ‘smart grid’”–hard not to get inspired just hearing those words! When aides explain that this isn’t stimulating enough, he...

Even the White House press office isn't immune from making geography gaffes. Per CNN's Mark Walz, the credentials given to members of the press corps traveling with President Obama on his campaign swing out west this week included a map that mistakenly identified Wyoming as Colorado. The two rectangular states do look similar on the map, but it's a pretty embarrassing error, especially considering how important Colorado might be to President Obama's re-election chances next year.

On Thursday the President announced that he would release 30 million barrels of oil from the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The immediate effect on world markets was to knock the oil price down by over $4 a barrel. But many experts question the wisdom -- and the timing -- of the move. Clearly, the timing of the withdrawal was politically motivated. Any reduction in the price of gas at the pump is going to be popular, especially with Obama's political base and with independents who are key to his reelection. The problem is that, like every other form of stimulus...

On the June 14 edition of NBC's "Today," President Barack Obama ascribed part of the blame for the high unemployment rate to ATMs, yet most media outlets continue to ignore the gaffe. "There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers," lectured Obama in an interview with NBC's Ann Curry. "You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don't go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and you're using a kiosk instead of...

Of all the disturbing and problematic aspects of Obama's post-American military odyssey, what fascinates me is that Obama would rush to half-hearted war with Moammar Gaddafi -- of all people. After seeing the dreadful force of the U.S. military unleashed on his fellow ruthless dictator Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi was crying uncle before George W. Bush could twist his wrist. In December of 2003, Col. Gaddafi announced to the world that he would be voluntarily abandoning his nuclear weapons program. "Libya has said it will give up its programmes for developing weapons of mass destruction and allow unconditional inspections," reported BBC...

President Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner, launched an attack on another country while in another country, without the congressional approval that George W. Bush had and with only about half as many other countries on board. Obama seemed to feel this constituted enough of a moral high ground from which to take a jab at the former president. *snip* As the folks at Fox quickly pointed out, Bush actually had twice as many international allies for the invasion of Iraq as Obama has put together for his adventure in Libya.

President Obama has many issues on his mind, but Sarah Palin isn't one of them. In a brief clip of his interview with Barbara Walters shown on "Good Morning America" Wednesday, the President shrugged of a question asking whether he thought he could beat the Tea Party darling in the 2012 election. "I don't speculate on what's going to happen two years from now," Obama said. When Walters chided the President for not answering the question, he smiled and said, "What I'm saying is I don't think about Sarah Palin." Last week, Palin told Walters she thought she could...

The Obama administration is developing plans that would require all Internet-based communication services -- such as encrypted BlackBerry e-mail, Facebook, and Skype -- to be capable of complying with federal wiretap orders, according to a report published Monday. National security officials and federal law enforcement argue their ability to eavesdrop on terror suspects is increasingly "going dark," The New York Times reported, as more communication takes place via Internet services, rather than by traditional telephone. The bill, which the White House plans to deliver to Congress next year, would require communication service providers be technically capable of intercepting and decrypting...
