I set In Flanders Fields to music, and created a song. My band and I recorded it a while back. We played it at a Memorial Day celebration in Black Canyon City, AZ to honor those who have served and never came home. Freedom is never free. Someone always pays the cost.

It’s difficult to deny that the implementation of leftist ideology is less a series of four-way intersections with stop signs or traffic lights at which people are forced to stop and possibly consider the ramifications of such implementation...and more a series of on-ramps onto an already-busy and flowing highway. Far too many people are intellectually lazy and believe that, to extend the metaphor, if they don’t have to slow below 70 mph then more cars entering the highway isn’t a problem for them. It’s only after they’ve passed dozens of such ramps that they wonder how and why their child...

The Cambridge Public School District in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is the first in the state to close in observance of an Islamic holy day. Today, students and teachers will have the day off, as a district committee voted last year to close for one Muslim holiday each year. The holiday – Eid al-Adha — is also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice” . It is one of the two “high holy days” that are observed by Muslims.
  • Is it okay for Christians to observe Halloween?

As a Christian I don’t “hate,” many things, but each year I can’t wait until Halloween is over. This day typically causes discord in our household as cultural pressure to participate finds it s way into our home. My stepchildren’s father sees nothing wrong with the day, while my wife and I have great difficulty with its basic foundation. Halloween is hard to avoid as its influences are everywhere. The other day I was teaching at an area community college and was disturbed most of my teaching time by staff dressed in horrific costumes. I really do hate Halloween. The...

Jennifer Hua identifies herself as a Christian. A 35-year-old former attorney studying Christian counseling at the Wheaton College Graduate School (Illinois), she has gone to church all her life and is a lay leader in her suburban Chicago congregation. She furthers her spiritual development by daily Bible reading, prayer, listening to and singing worship songs, and interacting with other Christians. And every few months, she carves out time for a silent retreat. "I do all of these things because I know from past experience I need to recalibrate my mind and my heart to be in tune with God," she...

Security sources in southern California have told Stratfor about incidents involving "vehicle-spoofing" -- or the use of falsely marked utility vehicles. The markings -- said to be fairly professionally done -- were identified by investigators looking into drug-smuggling cases. That said, the potential for vehicle-spoofing and other types of disguises as terrorist tactics is a cause for concern. The use of vehicles disguised as official or corporate cars, vans or trucks is an old tactic among criminals and militants that still bears review. It has cropped up everywhere -- from Iraq and Saudi Arabia to Maryland and San Diego --...

Was a beautiful sunny day today in Clovis. Pelco's California Memorial is awesome. We could see the huge flag flowing in the breeze from blocks away as we approached the site. The photos do not do justice to this flag. It is huge! Also greatly enjoyed the flyover just as we arrived. The ceremony was great. Don't know exactly how many people attended, but the number must've been in the thousands. There was marching bands, bagpipes, prayers, speeches and honor guards. The event was also attended by several of the heroic Firemen and Policemen from NYC, one of whom spoke...
