Veteran's Day Overpass Observance
flagbrigade

Posted on 11/10/2002 8:43:42 PM PST by flagbrigade

The Lafayette Flag Brigade is marking Nov 11th, Monday, with a large flag display spanning the El Curtola Bridge (aka , Old Glory Overpass) in Lafayette, CA. We have had a flag showing every 11th of every month to remind everyone to NEVER EVER FORGET. Let us never forget what was done to our U.S. family on 9/11/01, and to never forget our patriotic veterans past and present.

Please join us if you can by either stopping at the bridge and waving a flag or filling out a postcard to be sent to our troops. If you can't stop, honk your horn as you drive by! As one Cal-Trans supervisor observed while on the bridge, "This is the only way for some commuters to participate in these observances."

I too was not able to serve in the armed forces because of a medical condition, but have tried to contribute in other ways. The Lafayette Flag Brigade does have male and female veterans who represent our true patriots. This is their day to remember.
