I must offer this premise. There is no easy way out nor an easy path to follow. But we are indeed down a path, one that attacks the Sunni backed ISIS. We now have picked sides in a religious war. What must be realized in this region of the world, the Mideast, is that borders drawn by westerners are of little matter to they who live in the region. And that is precisely what the national delineations are, lines drawn by westerners. From the Sykes–Picot Agreement which in a fatigued fog resulting from WW I drew up the borders of...

On Thanksgiving Day President Bush will pardon a turkey. Isn't it ironic that he will pardon a turkey, but says that America isn't ready to stop abortion? If only we gave birth to turkeys instead of babies, perhaps we could get him to decisively act on our offsprings behalf.

(KRT) - Maybe it happens this way in most elections. But it really seems the middle's getting squeezed in this presidential election. The angry idealists are going at it from the left and right, leaving the practical middle wondering which way it should go. I found myself in this predicament recently in New York, where I moderated a 45-minute exchange between Gary Bauer of the evangelical right and Joseph Hough of the Protestant left. The two went after it over matters like how you treat the poor. Even though it was barely 9 in the morning, the interview grew so...

Can anyone tell me if the President make any strong statements about the death of all those children in Russia? Did he intentionally stay away from the topic? Shouldn't he be reaching out to Putin on this...rally the American's behind Russia and so on.
  • Vanity: violence in saudi arabia: Un answered questions?

This whole hostage crisis in saudi arabia is all too confusing. 1- First of all inspite of all the bombings, killings and violence, we haven't got any demands from the terrorists as to what exactly they want tthe saudis to do. 2- Secondly saudi arabia hasn't cracked down on al qaeda. It hasn't been supporting the US led war in iraq. Why would al qaeda want to target saudi arabia? 3- Thirdly, each time we accuse saudi arabia and pakistan of complicity in terror, there are bombings both in saudi arabia and Pakistan. It seems too much of a co-incidence....
