A fake news report circulating on YouTube appears to deepfake the voice of Infowars reporter Greg Reese to pass as one of his real special reports. The fake news report in question, posted Friday by “Anonymous Official”, shows Reese’s “voice” explaining how liberal astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson is warning about the return of the oblong-shaped meteor known as Oumuamua which could be disguised as an interstellar space vessel.A fake news report circulating on YouTube appears to deepfake the voice of Infowars reporter Greg Reese to pass as one of his real special reports. The fake news report in question, posted Friday...

An Arizona law enforcement official has reportedly been disciplined after he was caught on camera threatening to arrest a 12-year-old reporter this week. Hilde Lysiak is a young journalist who publishes the Orange Street News out of her parents’ home in Selinsgrove, Pa. The preteen was in the small town of Patagonia, Ariz., on Monday when she was confronted by Joseph Patterson, the town marshal, The Washington Post reported. Hilde caught the official, whose position is equivalent to a police chief, falsely claiming that it was illegal for her to film him and publish his face online. Patterson had allegedly...

Any news outlet wishing to provide solid and comprehensive coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign cannot avoid mentioning Sean Hannity's promotion of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. "Hannity," which airs in the prime-time lineup of Fox News, is influential among conservatives and enjoys a substantial cable news audience, and its more interesting moments have a long tail on the Internet. In violation of any journalistic principle, Hannity has done a video promotion for Trump, hosted him for softball interviews too numerous to recount and even provided advice to the campaign. BuzzFeed, the New York Times, The Washington Post and the...

SWEET SIXTEEN / ***1/2 (R) June 13, 2003 BY ROGER EBERT "Sweet Sixteen" is set in Scotland and acted in a local accent so tricky it needs to be subtitled. Yet it could take place in any American city, in this time of heartless cuts in social services and the abandonment of the poor. I saw the movie at about the same time our lawmakers eliminated the pitiful $400 per child tax credit, while transferring billions from the working class to the richest 1 percent. Such shameless greed makes me angry, and a movie like "Sweet Sixteen" provides a social...
