LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Authorities in Las Cruces say someone stole a gun and a Taser out of a Dona Ana County Sheriff's car at the Mesilla Valley Mall. According to investigators, an off-duty sheriff's sergeant had his marked vehicle parked at the mall when someone broke the front window before taking off with a gun, ammunition, a Taser, and handcuffs. SALT LAKE CITY -- New Mexico will no longer accept Utah's gun permits because officials there think Utah's training is inadequate. State Public Safety Secretary John Denko says Utah licenses require significantly less training than New Mexico's. Two women are dead following a fatal crash when Albuquerque police pursued a suspected bank robber late Tuesday morning. According to police, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle leaving the bank at Louisiana and Candelaria and followed it without initially initiating pursuit.
