A few people have expressed interest on the NM message board in having contact info for NM FReepers in case FR goes down for an extended period of time.
There are 208 names listed for New Mexico. I would be glad to receive contact info by FReepMail and maintain a list off site which I think is what is being asked for.
I think the info should include your FR name (which would come with the mail), your real name, email, phone and town. Street address would be optional. After a month or having received at least 25 sets of data, I would email the contact info to all of you who have participated. I would update the offsite list as needed.
Not sure that Carbonite is backing up my address books - so frankly I would want to get the info shared as soon as possible.

I believe that the best part of FR is it's anonymity. We are very candid in our opinions and those of us that want more revealed about ourselves can and have done so.
No offense, but the only FR member that I trust with my personal information is JimRob. The more that have it for a large number of FReepers, the greater the chance it will be compromised. And with the current political atmosphere, I do not underestimate the ability of the political left (which now is the same as the Federal government) to gather and distribute it for their own purposes (i.e. power and control).

What's wrong with the old Mexico contact list?
There are two lists. One is the “location” list for those that clicked a state location on their home page.
The second is the NM Ping list which I maintain for those that want to be notified about articles relevant to and related to New Mexico.

Names on my NM PING list will remain on the list until requested otherwise by that person.

This is just something that “Let’s Roll” requested. I decline to participate for the reasons mentioned above. My privacy is very much of importance to me.
I have been having a discussion via FReepmail with Let’s Roll. I won’t violate privacy and FR rules by posting her message here. However, I will post parts of my reply.
“FR has had a history of persons who have betrayed the trust of others.
“I am very much opposed to give any personal information to other FReepers except on a one-to-one basis and certainly not for the establishment of a list with real names and phone numbers. The whole thought of that just rubs me entirely the wrong way.”

Hey Cedar....Im not too nervous about contacting people. Years ago (Clinton years?) I met a few Freepers at a restaurant...not much came of it. I also helped organize a dinner when Jim Rob came through town a few years ago
Enjoyed seeing who is who but we didnt stay in touch except on line.
It doesnt mean much one way or another to me whether or not we stay in touch .
