Students Told to Cease Christian Acts
www.LC.org
Late yesterday, Liberty Counsel filed a complaint in federal court in New Mexico to stop the unconstitutional censorship of a group of students at Roswell High School and Goddard High School called Relentless in Roswell.
The student group had previously handed out food, hot chocolate, and candy canes, and distributed rocks with affirming words such as U are wonderful painted on one side and Psalm 139 on the other to the student body and faculty, without opposition or prior permission from the school. School officials never objected to the groups activities until one day before class, students handed out small rubber models of preborn babies. The models showed the babies at 12 weeks gestation and were each labeled with Biblical references and pro-life messages. School officials seized hundreds of the baby models and told the students, Its time to shut this down. Some people are getting offended. The models were even confiscated from students who were not distributing them. However, the students were then pulled out of class and instructed by Principal Bolaños to cease their Christian acts because they had made their point.
The superintendent then suggested the students embrace a less controversial message of abstinence and gave them permission to individually hand out abstinence wristbands. But when one student gave out the wristbands on the terms suggested by the superintendent, he was punished with a suspension. Students do not shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gate, and Liberty Counsel is standing up and protecting their rights.

Yep, sue ‘em... use their own tactics against them.
Ping for later
What are kids learning in public skool today?
Obviously, not the same as what they learn in church.
Principal Bolaños? Probably an illegal immigrant.
Would we be as concerned if the students were banned from handing out prayer beads and inscriptions from the Bhagavad Gita?
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,"
...while conveniently forgetting the next part after the comma;
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
Sue the school or more simply, quote the First Amendment and tell superintendent Bolaños to go p!$$ up a rope.
They dared go against the left’s
“sex positive” and “pro-abortion”
sacred cows.
The rest of the Christian message wasn’t “offensive”, I guarantee.
Once again, they interpret “Congress” to mean “school administration.”
Get a grip.
Its time to shut this down. Some people are getting offended.
Let’s see, teachers, students and even the curriculum in some cases can be, intentionally “offensive” to people with a strong religious faith, but such “offense” is not cause to “shut THEM down”; but let people of faith simply express themselves, and THEY are the offensive ones.
Animal Farm is alive and well, and in practice, in American academia today.
Getting offended at liberal causes and ideas promoted by the school during classtime and other times = intolerant, bigot, etc
Getting offended at Christian causes and ideas they have no right to stop = THEN they worry about people getting offended
Liberal def of tolerance = we tolerate those who believe the way we do, we do not tolerate those who do not believe the way we do.
As if they are the sole arbitors defining what we need to be tolerant and intolerant of.
I can’t keep posting about this, I’ve met my quota for the day on the word ‘tolerance’.
How much longer until Christians are once again fed to the lions? When I was much younger, things such as pagan religions, idolatry and anti-Christian persecutions seemed to me like faraway relics from an ancient time and different country. It was inconceivable that it could ever happen here. Now those things are happening in my very own neighborhood! “God Bless America”? Not if America turns its back to God.
