Amid the sex-trafficking investigation of Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing, the 2022 campaign for his House seat is gearing up, with the addition of another Democratic candidate. Democrat Peggy Schiller worked as a corporate litigator in New York City for several years and lived in Atlanta before moving to Santa Rosa Beach in 2018. What she saw when she arrived there shocked her. “Our congressman had been John Lewis in Atlanta, and here it was Matt Gaetz. I never thought of running until moved here,” Schiller said. “Because I think the people of...
  • CNN Admits NYC Elections Board 'Corrupt,' But Claims It's a 'Uniquely' NYC Problem

The liberal media's refrain is that there was no significant fraud in the 2020 election. Anyone who says otherwise is condemned for propagating the "Big Lie." So alarm bells go off for the MSM when prominent CNN analyst John Avlon called the Board of Elections in NYC, the nation's biggest city, "corrupt" and "incompetent." That happened on this morning's New Day during a discussion of how the NYC BOE's screwups have thrown the mayoral race there into chaos. And Avlon's allegation of BOE corruption wasn't the mere speculation of an outsider: Avlon used to work for the NYC BOE and...

ELMIRA, N.Y. — Lawmakers in New York are pushing legislation that could make it a crime to text and walk at the same time. A new bill proposed by the state senate would make it illegal for people to cross the street while staring at their cell phones, according to WABC. The news outlet reports there’s no clear evidence indicating that the use of personal electronics while walking causes accidents, but New York lawmakers are still considering fines for using them. Fines can range between $50 to $150 depending on the number of offenses.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Tuesday she no longer suffers from “imposter syndrome” after hearing Republican Sen. Mike Lee’s pronouncement that “babies” are the solution to climate change. “Like many other women + working people, I occasionally suffer from imposter syndrome: those small moments, especially on hard days, where you wonder if the haters are right,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Tuesday. Impostor syndrome leaves a person doubting their accomplishments and feeling like a fraud. “But then they do things like this to clear it right up,” the New York Democrat continued. “If this guy can be [a] Senator, you can do...

Summer—the season when everything smells like hot garbage—is finally in full-swing in New York City. With the MTA seemingly intent on preventing us from going anywhere—never mind outside the city—folks from Brooklyn and beyond trek to Prospect Park to cool down and escape the pungent odors in the air. Unfortunately, our idyllic summer days at the park might already be over as an “unusually aggressive” squirrel has infiltrated and attacked five park goers. In a press release shared with Gizmodo, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH)—which is overseeing SquirrelGate —said the attacks took place between...

If New Yorkers are trying to make a case for ignoring them, they’re doing a great job. Tonight theater-goers were treated to a night of booing and free style political rants at the highly acclaimed play, “Hamilton”. Vice President-elect Mike Pence was in attendance which apparently triggered the cast and crew. Some of the audience cheered while others loudly booed when he arrived, according to reports from people in attendance. But the show-stopper, literally, was the statement the cast read to him after the performance (and apparently after he already left the room.) After social media lit up with stories...

A man holding his 4-year-old daughter’s hand was so terrified by a drive-by shooting unfolding before him in The Bronx that he released the kid’s grip and made like Usain Bolt — leaving the child to fend for herself, surveillance video released by the NYPD Saturday reveals.

After a successful attack on corruption in New York’s state government, the hard-charging federal prosecutor in Manhattan appears to have set his sights on New York City. Over the past few weeks, a series of loosely related public corruption investigations coordinated by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara have spilled into public view, with targets including high-ranking New York Police Department officials, the union representing city jail guards, and the political fundraising activities of several people with ties to New York City’s mayor. Already an embarrassment to the nation’s largest police department, it remains unclear whether the widening probes could do damage...

When Donald Trump’s political credentials as a Republican and/or conservative are challenged, he likes to remind people that Ronald Reagan was a Democrat once and managed to evolve over time. Except that Reagan’s conversion was real and he had two terms as governor of California to prove his bona fides before he ran for president as a conservative Republican. As Reagan campaign manager Stu Spencer and speechwriter Ken Khachiagin note in a Real Clear Politics piece: Yes, Ronald Reagan migrated from being a liberal Democrat to the gold standard for conservative Republicans. But Reagan’s views evolved over four decades’ worth...

Donald Trump said Thursday he would change the Republican Party platform's position on abortion to include exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. Trump made the remarks during a town hall on the "Today" show on NBC on Thursday morning when host Savannah Guthrie asked him about abortion exceptions. "The Republican platform every four years has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child should not be infringed," Guthrie said. "And it makes no exceptions for rape, for incest, for the life of the mother. Would you want to change the Republican platform to...

Donald J. Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable with — including at Trump Tower in New York. Dipping into a contentious issue by taking a stand many Republicans oppose, Mr. Trump told a town-hall-style event, hosted by NBC’s “Today” show at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, that when people go to the restroom, they should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate.” Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, was responding to a question about a bill that North Carolina’s governor signed into law last month that bars individuals in the...

Republican Donald Trump says he'd be fine with Caitlyn Jenner using the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower. (AP File Photo) (CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate." "So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump. "That is correct," Trump said. Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a...

Transgender people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want, Donald Trump said Thursday. "Oh, I had a feeling that question was going to come up, I will tell you. North Carolina did something that was very strong. And they're paying a big price. There's a lot of problems," the Republican presidential candidate said during a town hall event on NBC's "Today." Referring to comments from an unnamed commentator who on Wednesday said North Carolina should "leave it the way it is right now," Trump said he agreed. "Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going...

The conventional wisdom is that Donald Trump will win the New York primary with well over 50 percent and win nearly all of the Empire State’s 95 delegates this upcoming Tuesday. While this is certainly a possibility, there is also a chance, and not a far-fetched one that Trump will finish with under 50 percent of the vote. If that happens, it will signal a seismic shift in the race for the Republican nomination. A look at recent polling makes it seem almost certain that Trump will finish with over 50 percent of the vote. The current New York Real...

Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz got the cold shoulder from a room of 800 Republicans at the New York City GOP gala Thursday night, receiving little interaction from the audience as he went through his usual stump speech. Cruz, who followed speeches from rivals Donald Trump and John Kasich, began by making a joke at Trump’s expense that fell flat. “I haven’t built any buildings in New York City, but I have spent my entire life fighting to defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,” the Texas senator said, taking a shot at the GOP front-runner who, just moments before,...

Donald Trump is waxing wroth these days about Ted Cruz's rounding up of Colorado delegates and has called the whole GOP delegate selection process "rigged and crooked." He says this to audiences who probably know less about the state-by-state rules than he does. It is the blind leading the blind, telling the assembled mob to grab their torches and pitchforks and storm the establishment castle.

PPP's new New York poll finds Donald Trump heading for a dominant victory in his home state, where he gets 51% to 25% for John Kasich and 20% for Ted Cruz. There had been some thought Cruz might have momentum after his big win in Wisconsin last week, but New Yorkers hate him. Even among Republicans just 35% see him favorably to 50% with an unfavorable opinion. Kasich has a narrowly positive favorability at 41/38, but the only candidate GOP voters in the state really like is Trump at 65/29.
