Much has been said about Mt. Rushmore this week, and the greatness continues to astound. However, we should leave it as is. Rather, we need a second one.

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning” that President Joe Biden should be added to Mt. Rushmore. Host Lesley Stahl asked, “Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside.” Pelosi said, “Well, I have never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, so no.” Stahl said, “I understand that you don’t want to own this, but it is so well reported that you were the leader of a pressure campaign.”

Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem received a letter Thursday from the National Park Service rejecting her request for Independence Day fireworks at Mount Rushmore. The Daily Caller first obtained the letter, which was sent by Michell Wheatley to Wanda Goodman, who works for the Governor at the South Dakota Department of Tourism. In the letter, Wheatley mentions that local tribes view the fireworks as an “adverse effect” on their traditional cultural views. “Fireworks continue to be viewed by multiple Tribes as an adverse effect on the traditional cultural landscape,” Wheatley wrote in the letter. “This view was expressed by...

Watching Trump's Speech at Mt Rushmore. Biden CLOSED DOWN Mt Rushmore This Year to Prevent Gathering of Patriots. Noem Obeyed.

Thursday, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) spoke about the Biden administration’s decision to close Mount Rushmore for the Fourth of July festivities, a contrast to a year earlier when then-President Donald Trump spoke before a fireworks display. The South Dakota Republican slammed the move, claiming it was part of the “radical left’s agenda.” “You know, the decision was really arbitrary,” she said. “That’s why we’ll be appealing this decision, and the fight isn’t over. There wasn’t specific reasons that had credibility, and we call this an unlawful act to not make sure that we can conduct our celebration on July 3...

Fireworks won’t fly at Mount Rushmore July 4 weekend despite a lawsuit against the Biden administration from Kristi Noem, the Republican governor of South Dakota.Judge Roberto A. Lange called the idea of an Independence Day celebration at the iconic national monument “appealing.”“However this Court is not called upon to determine whether such a fireworks display is a good idea,” he said in his 36-page ruling, posted on yourbasin.com.Lange said the country could “use a good celebration of its foundational principles of democracy, liberty, and equal protection of the law” after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jan. 6 siege on the Capitol...

White House aides reached out to South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem last year about the process of adding additional presidents to Mount Rushmore, the New York Times reported. According to a person familiar who spoke with the Times, Noem then greeted Trump when he arrived in the state for his July Fourth celebrations at the monument with a four-foot replica of Mount Rushmore that included his face. Noem has noted before Trump's "dream" to have his face on Mount Rushmore, the Coolidge-era sculpture that features the 60-foot-tall faces of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. According...

On the eve of the eight year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, an FBI informant who infiltrated alleged terrorist cells in the U.S. tells ABC News the FBI missed a chance to stop the al Qaeda plot because they focused more on undercover stings than on the man who would later become known as 9/11 ringleader Mohammed Atta. Brian Ross reports on the undercover agent in al Qaeda. In an exclusive interview to be broadcast tonight on ABC World News with Charles Gibson and Nightline, former undercover operative Elie Assaad says he spotted and became suspicious of Atta in early...

President Trump delivered the speech of his presidency at Mount Rushmore Friday, a magnificent affirmation to Americans on their 244th national birthday that what they have always cherished is still cherished, along with a warning shot to those who hate and despise all the United States stands for. It was non-partisan — there was no mention of Democrats or Joe Biden. It was inclusive — celebratory of people of all races, and celebratory in particular of the singularity of America being great for such diversity. It was also big-hearted, magnanimous, celebrating all the range of achievements of the country. Yet...

Something remarkable happened over the weekend after President Trump gave his address at Mount Rushmore. As was to be expected, the mainstream media deplored the speech as “dark and divisive,” but it was also immediately effective. Here’s how. In order to absurdly portray Trump’s speech as a racist appeal to disaffected white voters, the media and the Democrats had to pretend that Trump was only defending confederate statues when he spoke about our nation’s monuments. Now, this is obviously an outright and outrageous lie, but in this case the perfidy of fake fact outfits like the New York Times and...

President Donald Trump jetted to South Dakota on Friday to deliver a paean to what he believes to be is a forgotten America, in the shadow of Mount Rushmore. The speech laid out Trump's consistently grim vision for an America in which he is not its President as he engaged in his usual amount of fact-bending and breaking to serve his rhetorical and political purposes. I went through the transcript -- and pulled out the lines you need to see. 1. "Let us also send our deepest thanks to our wonderful veterans, law enforcement, first responders and the doctors, nurses...

With Joy Reid poised to take over Chris Matthews' former weekday slot on MSNBC, Reid's weekend show was guest-hosted today by Tiffany Cross, who's been a regular guest there. It didn't take long for Cross to demonstrate that the show's level would not be elevated should she become Reid's permanent replacement. The very first segment, dedicated to a discussion of President Trump's Mt. Rushmore rally, served up a rancid stew, combining Cross's ignorance of American history with nothing short of a . . . a death wish for President Trump. Get the rest of the story and view the video...

President Trump on Friday during a Fourth of July event at Mount Rushmore lambasted protesters calling for the removal of Confederate statues, accusing them of wanting to “overthrow the American Revolution” and fundamentally change the country. “There is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted and punished. Not going to happen to us,” he told a packed crowd. “Make no mistake, this left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution. In so...

What changed? Sanders said Mt. Rushmore made him proud to be an American in 2016, and CNN seemed to agree. Now people want to blast the presidents off the mountain. VIDEO of Bernie on CNN gazing at Rushmore https://mobile.twitter.com/PhilipWegmann/status/1279210898138238976
