Last Tuesday Vice President Joe Biden swore in Senator Thad Cochran for a 7th term. Upon seeing his old friend from his decades in the US Senate, Biden enthusiastically remarked, “Thaddeus!6374807_G Best guy in the US Senate right here. Mississippi attack ads that painted conservative Republicans and tea partiers as racists were funded by Senate Republicans, RedState editor-in-chief Erick Erickson has confirmed. Advertisements by All Citizens for Mississippi, which attacked state Sen. Chris McDaniel and painted conservatives as racists, were partly funded by Sens. Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Rob Portman, Bob Corker and Roy Blunt, RedState reported. According to documents filed with the Federal Elections Commission, All Citizens for Mississippi received funding from a Haley Barbour-backed group called Mississippi Conservatives.

This year’s most hotly contested Republican primary elections entered a new round of controversy Thursday morning, when the Tea Party challenger attempting to unseat incumbent Senator Thad Cochran officially initiated a challenge to the results of a runoff last week.

When asked how Perry could have succeeded in not switching the books—since he and other Democrats refused to cooperate with his request on the grounds that they believed it was illegal—McInnis replied that he worked with Sen. Cochran’s sister-in-law—the election commissioner in Hinds County—to get the job done. “Connie Cochran is the election commissioner,” McInnis said.
