You may say these are fundamental truths, but I believe that many would agree that they don't always play a role in filmmaking. Sometimes we see films that aren't any better than tabloids. Last week, David Brooks of the New York Times wrote a column on an academic study concerning the nearly complete lack of a moral vocabulary among most American young people.
