  • Private Health Insurers Are Being Driven Out Of The Markets, Affecting Millions

One of the most fervent promises President Obama made to the American people before his health overhaul law passed in 2010 was “If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.” But, even before the law fully takes effect in 2014, health insurers are dropping out of markets in many states, causing millions of people to lose “the coverage they have now,” and tens of millions more surely will follow. Carriers don’t want to leave the customers and markets they have been...

CHICAGO, - Potential Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney finished a day of fundraising in Chicago by sending leftover pizza to President Obama's campaigners. Romney said he enjoyed the deep-dish pizza at Gino's East and sent some to Obama's Chicago re-election headquarters, ABC News reported Friday. "Great deep dish at @ginoseast. Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team," Romney wrote on his Twitter feed. The message was accompanied by a picture of a delivery boy heading out of the restaurant. A source with Obama's campaign confirmed the pizza was received.

On Saturday, May 1, the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby, some 20 thoroughbreds will run for the roses in the most famous and important race in the sport. That race of 3-year-old colts (and one filly) will be won in just over two minutes. Meanwhile, another exciting horse race – the race to win the GOP presidential nomination – is gearing up. It, too, has a large field, but this race is a marathon that takes four years to complete. Now, the time has come to begin handicapping the 2012 primary race. This list represents a snapshot of a...
  • It's me, not you, Mitt [Why Not To Nominate Mitt in 2012]

Not only does Mitt Romney possess an air of real-world know-how, he also has mucho smarts. I've been a reluctant apologist for him for years now. [snip] Yet, notwithstanding his many attributes and my own nagging man-crush, it has become evident that Romney's is a hopeless quest for the presidency. It is possible to see — if one dares to dream — some authentic fiscal conservative emerging to take a shot at the presidency in 2012. While Romney has the required drive, intellect and temperament, he is wrong on the fundamental ideological question of this time: health care. In fact,...
  • Romney, Outsmarted: ObamaCare dashed Romney's presidential hopes before he's even announced

Mitt Romney may end up being the biggest GOP casualty of ObamaCare -- his 2012 presidential hopes dashed before he's even announced a bid. Mr. Romney has continued vociferously campaigning against ObamaCare even while defending a very similar universal health-care plan he signed into law as Massachusetts's governor in 2006. Last week, he inveighed on the National Review blog that "President Obama has betrayed his oath to the nation . . . . he has succumbed to the lowest denominator of incumbent power: justifying the means by extolling the ends." Critically, Republicans need to win the presidency in order to...

NEIL CAVUTO, ANCHOR: More closed-door meetings on health care. The president and members of his own party now pow-wowing in private over the very next move. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney telling me they’re doing it all wrong. And he knows. He overhauled health care when he was running Massachusetts and says that his plan was nothing like the president’s now. More of my chat with Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.

I'm sorry, Mitt might be good in business dealings and might make a good cabinet member in a Conservative administration but to say that The Stimulus Plan was good and needed is outrageous for anyone outside of the White House, even some in Congress probably don't believe it work....David Bernstein of The Boston Phoenix who reviewed Mitt Romney's book might have a bad excerpt of it, but he read the book and if it's true, i give Mitt credit for being honest but he is not what the people of the U.S need at this time a man who is...
