"Clearwater, Florida - It's been two weeks since Jessica Lunsford’s father discovered his daughter was missing from her room. The family is holding out hope the nine-year-old girl will be found safe, despite days of searching that turned up nothing. The case is a lot like that of Zachary Bernhardt who disappeared on September 11, 2000. Like Jessica, the eight-year-old Clearwater boy was home at bedtime, but gone by morning. As with Jessica's disappearance there was an all-out search, still Zachary remains missing....

WASHINGTON - Closing a curious chapter of Korean War history, the Pentagon announced Friday it had identified the remains of an Air Force pilot whose jet crashed on Chinese territory after being shot down during a dogfight with a Russian flying for North Korea. The case puts a spotlight on a Russian role in the 1950-53 Korean War that was kept quiet for decades and helped feed speculation inside the American government that the Russians had attempted - and perhaps managed - to capture U.S. pilots to exploit them for intelligence purposes. Capt. Troy "Gordie" Cope, of Norfork, Ark., was...

WASHINGTON – It has been known for years that thousands of light and lethal shoulder-fired missiles are in black-market circulation. What is not known is exactly who has them and whether many have fallen into the hands of terrorists or criminals. A worrisome puzzle, it explains why the United States and Russia signed an agreement Thursday to cooperate in destroying surplus Soviet-era SA-7s and other portable anti-aircraft missiles. The smallest of these are durable, relatively cheap and easy to smuggle. The United States also has understandings with several other countries, including Nicaragua, Bosnia, Cambodia and Liberia, for Washington to provide...

All-out search for missing girl By Amy Shannon Sheriff's officials combed the streets of a Homosassa community Thursday as neighbors clung to hope that the search for a 9-year-old girl who mysteriously disappeared from her home would end on a positive note. Authorities issued a missing person's alert for Jessica "Jessie" Marie Lunsford after her father reported her missing from her bed around 6:30 a.m. However, sheriff's officials weren't ready Thursday to issue an Amber Alert, because they didn't know for sure whether an abduction had occurred at the Sonata Avenue home. "We're working something above a missing person's (case),"...

A Pentagon report released earlier this month concludes that many American servicemen were imprisoned in the former Soviet Union during the Cold War. The "Gulag Study" was compiled by researchers for the U.S.-Russia Joint Commission on POW/MIAs, who have been investigating reports of Americans held in the vast network of Soviet forced labor camps. "I personally would be comfortable saying that the number [of Americans in the gulags] was in the hundreds," Norman Kass, executive secretary of the commission's U.S. section, said when the report was released. For more than a decade, researchers have investigated sightings of Americans in Soviet...

The man who allegedly lured a 16-year-old girl on a 17-day trip to Washington state was turned in to police by his brother. After his brother introduced him to the girl, Phillip Diehl called police - when the teen had been missing for more than two weeks - and on Saturday asked The Examiner to convey an apology to Ayesha's family. "I am so sorry that this happened to their daughter," Diehl said. "I am glad that she is safe, back with the people who really love her. I would also like to apologize for my brother's actions. I know...

Please pray for my 17 year old daughter's safety, that the Lord is watching over her and protecting her from harm. I just filed a missing persons report with the Columbus Police Department about an hour ago, when it became apparent that I was not going to get the usual call from her letting me know where she was. I left for work at 10:45 am and the last thing she said was that she was going to get her hair cut. No e-mail, no phone calls to me throughout the course of the day, which struck me as odd,...

On April 20, 2001, a Peruvian military jet pilot confused a small plane carrying missionaries for one carrying drug runners and shot it down. In the last two weeks, MSNBC has been leading the charge to bring this case to closure. Its on-air personnel – Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough in particular – have been asking hard questions about why no charges have been brought against CIA agents who may have lied about the nature of this crash. The MSNBC website invites citizens to communicate their concerns about this presumed cover-up through MSNBC to the U.S. government. This would be...

Excerpt - HOUSTON - On the snowy steppes near Orenburg, southeast of the Ural Mountains in Siberia, teams of military search and rescue experts have spent the last month scanning the ground with metal detectors and probing the snow drifts for suspicious metal objects. Their quest: Russia's most advanced spy satellite, which hasn't been seen since it came down to Earth on Jan. 9. Midwinter cold, short periods of daylight, and blowing snow slowed the teams at every step, and now they appear to have given up. No official announcement of the loss has been made. Observers speculate that's because...

The admission by the Energy Department that two allegedly "missing" secret computer disks never existed -- and the University of California's penalty of $5.8 million -- cap one of the biggest security shake-ups the U.S. nuclear weapons industry in post-World War II years that resulted in a temporary shutdown of all U.S. nuclear research facilities last year. What started with a bang has ended with a whimper. The U.S. Energy Department admitted late Friday that two allegedly "missing" secret computer disks that had triggered a major purge at one of the nation's premier nuclear weapons laboratories never existed in the...

Another mystery, is partially solved. Hillary Clinton's graduate thesis is missing. The topic was rumored to be Johnson's Great Society, but it was on the left wing Radical Saul Alinsky. Alinski promoted deseption in organizing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_Alinsky. It fits in with her "makeover". Here is a quote from Alinsky: “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins – or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so...

Newly found species goes missing again By Stephen Cauchi Science reporter February 10, 2005 The disputed Homo Floresiensis. One of Indonesia's leading palaeontologists is refusing to hand back the remains to the team that found them on the Indonesian island of Flores. As reported last year, Professor Teuku Jacob, of Gadjah Mada University, grabbed the remains of the seven creatures - dubbed "hobbits" - and locked them in his safe, refusing...
